Excellent board - Love the stage coach and the man getting 'the drop'. You must have had a great time.
-
Wonderful collection ;D
-
Bloody gorgeous!
:-* :-*
I hope to get my board looking that 'busy'.....one day.
::)
-
Great looking terrain. The train is excellent!
-
Anyone who is lucky enough to see the boys putting this on at a show is most definitely recommended to give it go.... one of the best participation games I've ever seen :)
-
Excellent looking game there!
-
That is a great looking game, and a most excellent collection of terrain and figures.

I have a mixture
Some old Hovels resin ones, Sarissa , Gamecraft , Tri City Laser, and number of generic ones from Products for Wargamers who supply a sign to use and some scratch built

Thanks for the info.

Great looking setup Deedles shows me what to aim for.
Love the train what make is it; its probably out of my price range.

It's a Bachmann On30 scale 2-6-0 Bumblebee. I have been sourcing bits for it for the last two years , from internet sellers, the occasional model railway show, and e bay.
I fell lucky with the loco and tender and got it for £32 on eBay. Bargains do come up there if your patient enough.
I also use the on30 (o guage narrow)specific track as the wooden sleeper size and spacing is better than your traditional uk 00 gauge track which it could run on. Again picked that up at various railway shops etc.
-
Thanks Deedles
£32 that's pretty good, a lot better than £75 pounds for the Dixons one, will have to keep a check on evilbay for bargains.

No,prob... And even better is already painted... Just needs a bit of weathering..
-
Seriously, 75 for a piece of resin (or whatever) versus 32 for a working model!? That's a total rip off, even if the working model isn't working.
So, your town is set in Colorado, then? That paint scheme just shouts what it is, Denver and Rio Grande - though it could be reworked to be Virginia and Truckee (a Nevada line).
Very nice. Very. And not just the train.
-
I've had the pleasure of seeing this first hand and it is indeed brilliant. We'll have to have that game sometime Deedles! :D

indeed... and it is still capable of running as well.. there is a little part of me wants it to that sometime!

That is a marvellous table full of eye candy as far as you can see!!! But where are your stampeding bovines? ;)

The players "missed" that opportunity...! A few did twig it late on in the games..one of the real benefits to me is that it's a game that let's you think. Not just look a set of fixed actions..

I am giving the Old West collection a run out at the up coming Battleground show in Stockton... Any LAFer's which fancy a try out on the mean streets just pop along and say Howdy Partner and I will find a place for you

Maybe we need to send a posse to bring you in...
-
Well all rightey then! se you then! lol

Upon further review, I've decided against taking the train to Serenity! And not for fear of flying lead, neither. Closest thing to a train station I see is the stock yard (cattle pens). Guess I'll jostle in on a wagon or get saddle sore on "ole paint." :D

Aah, the new railway ticket office is current under construction..
-
Another bucket of good inspiration for my own, slow burning, OW project!
-
Beautiful setup! :D
-
In readiness for this weekends run out at the Battlegrond show I have completed the railroad ticket office for the town.

Nice station from Sarissa, just finished one myself.
-
Well, now that's more like it. I can ride to mayhem in comfort - and back out again by train. Just hope the other little lead guy is in the box in the baggage compartment! :o
-
Lovely, especially the off whites.
Very nicely finished.

Thanks.. I have a mine to add at some point , got the bits for it just need to get around to it.
I am also taking this forward 50-60 years and re-creating a gangster era game
-
Gangsters same town different time period like the thinking - any chance you could include a close up pic of your water tower - I have been thinking about making one myself - love that yours seems to show the water whereas most have a solid top?

Will do ... Yes it has water effect.its all scratch built, the water tank was the cardboard centre from a large industrial type loo roll with balsa strips added to the outside The top was filled with a disc of cardboard about 10mm from the end glued in. Thus then had layers of PVA glue added over and once hardened then painted a murky brown green colour. This then had a few layers of enamel gloss varnish added with 24hrs in between layers which built a bit of depth and smoothed things out. Pretty easy really.

Love all the horses at the tie racks. Only a few wagons that I see but I believe you have more. But I only see two mounted figures (horse mounted anyway). I guess this is a challenge in 28 mm. Again, a nice setup. Might consider the spur track serving the stock yard in the future. You make me anxious to get to work on my own project.

Thanks. I have about a dozen mounted , they did not get on the board until later. The challenge with them I find is finding ones not shooting! I have some by knuckleduster that are good general ones though. I have a few more wagons , but could always use more..
Like the idea of the spur to to the cattle pen thanks.
I so need to get a bigger terrain mat!

Go for it!
We have used my OW town as the basis for other games right up to and including sci-fi (40K).
The nearest we got to gangsters was using some of the stuff for Cthulhu-esque gaming (Strange Aeons).
It is easy enough as just by adding a few period cars gives it the flavour straight away.
;)
