Does anyone make these? I've trawled all the obvious manufacturers and had no joy.

As you noted strange that they are relatively easy to get hold of if you want French but not Brits. Thanks though.

If you can find the old 30mm Minifigs, they had British troops in greatcoats.  Do not let the scale label put you off.  They are compatible with present day 28mm figures.  The sculpting is not up to today's standards, but they are horrible either.
 Remember...30mm Minifigs.  NOT the 25mm range.  Good luck in the search.
