Title: Help needed identifying figures please
Post by: Sharnydubs on July 29, 2014, 11:04:29 PM
Hi folks, I have just found these figures in my painting pile but can't remember the range or manufacture. Can anyone please help?

Many thanks

Peter

They look WWII British not WWI to me.

The left hand one looks like a British Paratroop officer. Right hand one might be too, but looks to be wearing a jacket not a smock.

Agreed. The cap badge in the centre is a giveaway - the rest of the uniform is the same as the British airborne. The guy in the middle looks to be wearing Polish uniform too.

Thanks folks for your help so far. Having trawled the internet today for Ww2 Polish I am still drawing a blank. Not many manufacturers seem to tackle the Polish army. All ideas or identification welcome.

They are free Poles - so escaped Poles fighting for the allies, equipped by the British. I think the only action the Polish paras were used in was Market Garden, where they were dropped South of the Rhine, near Arnhem.

They might turn up under British Paras on manufacturers sites, as the Polish title is usually used to indicate the 1939 home forces.

What scale are these figures?

They are 28mm scale. I have based and under coated but still hope to find them in someone's catalogue!
