Title: Zvezda T-35

Here's one of the plastic 1:100 scale T-35 from Zvezda that I got a few days ago.

I've painted it in a quick, plain Russian green scheme, without any markings of any kind. I may add some later; I think that when these were being used, the Soviets were still in the habit of painting red stars on their tanks.

I've photographed it along with all the 15mm Soviet troops I own. I probably should do something about that — I see that Peter Pig do some early Soviets in greatcoats, and some heads in the pointy winter hat that I've forgotten the name of.

Nice. I bought 10 of them and used 6 of the turrets for converting the BT-5 to a BT-7A quick fix. Not quite correct but gameable.

I decided that it looked a bit too bland with no markings at all, so I painted on an old-style red star and hammer-and-sickle. This sort of thing makes me wish I had some waterslide decal paper for my laser printer, but the hand-painted markings will do for the moment.

If you hadn't said you hand painted the star I would have guessed it as a decal...very cleanly done!  Nice work overall!   :)

I have always loved this tank.  Absolutely superb.  Also a really big fan of the Zvezda kits.  If I gamed that scale I'd own them all - good value and reasonable kits.  Very cool.  The T-35 is friggin' behemoth.

It's a real pity that Zvezda haven't done more with the rivets on the side-skirts, because from photos of the thing they were very prominent indeed — the rivet heads must have been 40-50mm in diameter, judging by how they look compared with the guys standing next to the tank.
