Well another great person was found dead today/yesterday :(
Robin Williams, RIP.
Im actually really upset about his passing even though I never knew him...
-
Actually genuinely sad to hear of his passing. :(
The man was a rare talent, and, judging from interviews and his interactions with the public, a good and likeable person as well.
-
He was also a wargamer too. He and Bill Crystal played in a Little New York gaming shop apparently.
Why do so many comic legends suffer with depression, goes with the territory i suppose :/
Mork signing off for good. :(
-
Apparent suicide?
Even though it's all guesswork at this point, this sucks.
-
If he can't beat depression, who can?
A truly sad day.
-
Very sad, he was part of my childhood with Mork and Mindy which was a gem amongst kids TV and again my late teens with Good Morning Vietnam (arose at 05:30 in basic training in the RAF to the sound track for 8 weeks every day ;D) and again with my Kids, Mrs Doubtfire being a favourite and his Peter Pan, Happy feet amongst the many

A great loss.
I was genuinely shocked when I heard the news.
There goes another part of my childhood.

:( :'(

I'm actually quite sad about this, he was the first comedian I remember watching on telly.
Nanu Nanu :'( :(
-
Gutted to hear about this. An extraordinary guy!

Terrible news made so much worse by the manner of his passing. We just watched Hook again here two weeks ago after Bob Hoskins died.
On the wargaming subject, I've heard that confirmed by two friends who've seen him at events. Apparently he owned an Eldar army.
-
Honestly?
I wish his family privacy and time to heal from their loss. Condolences to all who lose a loved one, famous or unnoticed by the media.
However, I will not notice his absence in the slightest on a day to day basis. That loss is just a by-product of our "now" culture(s.)
His works will be available for a period of time - until he is forgotten by the entertainment circus - and maybe until his fans die. Greta Garbo, Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Douglas Fairbanks, Rudolph Valentino, William S. Hart, Buster Keaton may be remembered for a while but Max Linder, Lillian Gish, Louis Brooks are already fading from common knowledge. Eventually the great is replaced by the the "currently popular" in entertainment.
He had a good run but it is over and the fading of memories begins.
Gracias,
Glenn
