So back from BOYL with a large goodie bag of toys, including one of the infamous John Pickford Giant Trolls. Plan is to use him as a Giant in my Outcast Chaos Infested Greenskin force.

Added to the base is a Orcling (This one was free, thanks Marcus. But I have 4 packs worth including the LE one) and a Crooked Claw Goblin (Thanks DB!).
Also as a clue to future projects take alook at what else you can spot in the picture hehe
-
That is one BIG, UBERCOOL Troll. Have FUN with the painting et al!
-
So cool. :o
-
Huge!
And metal too!
:o
-
Ooo, that's nice. Any chance of a size comparison shot?
-
I love John's Trolls. They work very well with the 90s Kev Adams goblin range stylewise. And they are massive!
-
I've just bought some Kev Adams Heartbreaker orcs and I need a troll to go with them for a warhammer quest almost boss (there's another fight after this one, but this will be the hardest), style wise the troll looks perfect but I'm just wondering if the stats I would have to give him would be too much for level two heroes? Although writing this I've just had the idea I could make him drunk...

Thanks lads, he was a pig to stick together and much putty will be needed to fill some gaps but he's an amazing figure at at £20 a real bargain.

With a normal Troll I'll try to get one in the coming weeks, but atm you can see from the Gobbo on the base just how large the fat boy is :)

Yeah I'm also using Pickfords Fat Goblin King with a pik of ranges but mostly Kev Adams toys :)
-
Nice, I have the pickford trolls and they are great. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with him.

really cool ! You did a good job, big minis are difficult to paint, because of the large flat aeras.
It reminds me the old Citadel trolls from the early 90's. I believe I've got a couple of them somewhere, with a few savage orcs.
-
The Big Guy & Friends turned out SPLENDIDLY...the Folk to the left look potentially UBERCOOL also.
-
I have the say the Troll was a real joy to paint, it almost painted himself.
The Goblins to left is another John Pickford figure set, King Furtak Fartage III and Bek Belly Bearer along with Chefs Soop & Gore Dhon.
-
Some more painting has been done and this thread has now been renamed Outcast Greenskin Project Log.

Great little project Chico. The Troll is a big fella.
-
The Old Goblins are COOL & SILLY as only Goblins can be. Your FINE brushwork & eye for color is bringing out all their abundant character. GREAT WORK ONCE MORE!

The Head Honcho & his Entourage ooze character among other things; the closeup shows this off nicely. The Lads look like WONDERFUL minis to paint. Enjoy the experience!
-
How do you base your minis? Is it painted static grass? Love the goblins so far.

As you an see quite a colourful unit/army, trying to take this out of my comfort zone of dark and dirty.
-
I think the basing works good. Its different and looks like it can handle gaming without falling off.
-
WONDERFUL additions to your project! Since I started following the progress of your Outcasts I notice I stop to checkout the Black Tree & Harlequin minis at least once a day...the will power is cracking. That aside, VERY WELL DONE!
-
Thanks lads, DeafNala Ral Partha Europe have the rights to the old Heartbreaker Minis and are semi-well priced if you want some Dark Goblins. Plus If your willpower does crack I have 10-15 ogrininal Heartbreaker single models blisters I could trade you hehe

While they may no longer be state of the art figures, the Old Lads are personable Little Rogues AND BEAUTIFULLY painted at that. GREAT WORK!
-
Nice work!
-
Thanks lads, comments like those keeps me motivated.
-
The unit looks very nice. I love what you did with the Dave mini. I'd been thinking about picking that one up. Now that I've seen it painted definitely need it.
-
Great work - particularly Dave!

Both here & on your Blog, you have some WONDERFUL pieces. The Bolt Thrower is a gem...love the Dead Guy strapped on the front. I still have a few of the old war machines kicking around in the Vault...still in their boxes, although there are a couple of pieces missing here & there. With all your inspiration they might actually see some paint. Bet that as it may...GREAT WORK!
