Title: Crusader Miniatures, Gladiators!
Post by: Atheling on August 14, 2014, 11:42:22 AM
Hi,

Just been having a lot of fun painting up some of Crusader Miniatures superb Gladiators. Bags of character, so much so that they almost paint them selves up!

You can see a load more pics of many more Gladiators on my Just Add Water Blog:

http://justaddwater-bedford.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/for-those-about-to-be-posted-we-salute.html

Here's a few taster pics:

I'll probably add the rest of the pics here later if I can find the time.

Cheers,
Darrell.

Lovelly painting. :-* :-*

Can i ask what colors did you use to paint african skin?
This is one of my problems in painting miniatures.
I simply avoid painting african skin because i dont like the look i put in them.

Thanks guys, they were a pleasure to paint..... going to have to make sure that I don't 'forget' about how well Crusader Miniatures paint up!

Various shades of Vallejo  red-ish browns lightened with oranges and orange browns! Sometimes with hints of Carmine Red to the orange was added, sometimes without- to be honest it would be hard to remember exactly as I didn't write them down  o_o :(. If I remember I'll be sure to start a list here for you. One of them was Foundry African but I had to wash it three times to get the tones to pull together.

Hope this helps?

Darrell.
