Had a good day out today at Wargames Illustrated being hosted by the genial Dan & Wayne. I was running two Battle of Keren games for a future edition; we played the same scenario twice using Bolt Action and Chain of Command so the article will compare the two rules sets for gaming a piece of historical mountain warfare. As always, it was a real pleasure to set the game up under decent lighting and great fun to use WI's backdrops for a bit of added realism (we didn't turn the heating up to 40 degrees though, that would have been silly.)
Here's a few of the photos taken with my teeny tiny family camera; can't wait to see what Dan's pics actually look like!
Thanks to Matt, Lewis & Pete for playing. :)
Scrivs, this one's for you! (sorry you are off having fun in Japan but your Indians were first into the Fort.)

Thanks! I'd call it a big terrain piece, I guess really it's three terrain boards angled at 45 degrees. Planning to bring it to Antwerp in November - will you be at that one, Bjoern?

Fantastic terrain and game table. Looking for the magazine to read the full article!!!
And very interested in the "Chain of Command" version!

I think the magazine is due to be at the end of this year - the theme will be 'Take the High Ground' so all about mountain warfare. Chain of Command played very well on the board and really felt like a WW2 battle. Cheers!

I've just finished reading your article on the "How to", can't wait for more on your work, love it.

I can confirm that James' game looks even better in the flesh. It's a really stunning display!
James, will you be running the Chain of Command version of the game at Crisis? I'd love to see that version.

Cheers all! Undecided about which version to put on at Antwerp - need to talk to Scrivs to formulate a plan first. I'll let you know when I know. ;)

I`ll try to be at Antwerp. Can not say yet 100%. November is a busy month for me.
Would like to meet you there.
Good luck for the game.
Cheers

Well, very much hope you can make it. Just spoke to Scrivs and it seems likely we'll be using Chain of Command for the game. :)

That photo-shoot looks great, it was a shame I missed it, but can see my figures taking part.
Now looking forwards to a 'two men and a mountain go to Antwerp in a Mini' adventure.
