Howdy, this is a historic photograph of Freund's gunstore at Laramie, Wyo. Terr., made in 1868.

I made a little diorama based on this picture as a reference.

It is not an exact replica and it doesn't have the precision of those laser-cut buildings out there, but i hope you like it. It was fun to scratchbuild it.

Nice work.
 8) 8)

If you are keeping it as a diorama, I would suggest that you hide the tabs on the bases by building up the groundwork.
You should be able top do that fairly easily.
 ;)

I love the way that the sign is hanging.
Consider that idea well and truly stolen.

I think it looks great. I like the half log, rough hewn board look in the photograph.

Looking very good, you captured the look of the original very well.
Have you ever thought of using an ink wash on your figures?

Yep, my painting abilities are very basic yet. I still use a handful of basecolors and i think i should dilute them more often. Ink washes would give an impression of shadows, because they are very thin and accumulate in dents of the miniature?

Ink washes are sold for example as "Citadel Shade" by games workshop, right?

Still have to learn a lot.

Very nice diorama and cool execute of the idea!!!

I personally have limited ability in painting and limited time, so I use something that is called Army Painter Quickshade, which you either can dip the mini in or brush on. It gives a shade and is very easy and quick to apply (several tutorials on the 'net). Only thing might be that I strongly recommend you to let them dry properly for 48 hours before you apply the Matt Varnish.

That picture on the sign, is it taken from the "Aces and Eights" rulebook? seem to recognise it.
