Title: [ORCTOBER] Generic Orcs and Goblins Painter Thread
Post by: Constable Bertrand on October 06, 2014, 01:24:58 AM
Welcome to Orctober 2014.
The orc and goblin painting thread.

There are a few threads about orcs and goblins which has infected us with the germ to reproduce orcses. Perhaps there is something in the water, or spores in the air, or the month of the year.

This is open to all.
This is not a competition.
There is no prize.
There is no set end goal/limit.
Any sized mini.

Rules regarding orcflesh.

1. Orcs must have just come off the workbench.
2. Please base before taking pictures.
3. WIP shots are allowed when posting the finished orc/goblin.
4. Feel free to commit with a picture of your unfinished minis.

Other than that, join in! Let the industry of orcdom begin - tear the forest down!

Cheers
Matt

Hey!
I have a very similar looking pile.

I shall add a couple of efforts to this thread after BLAM.

It should push me back nicely to that LotR thread that I nagged Mr Wolf into and then let him down with so badly.
I shall resurrect it soon, Guy.
I promise.

You've done one already Guy? Oh dear that's quick ;) I'm still examining mould lines, gluing to bases and planning how to make spear heads for 2 broken figures...

I may paint mine shades of brown.

Mason, that's the effort, a nice break from OW stuff. I was reaching saturation point of OW myself. It saves you doing that train too ;)

Oh bloody hell, I need an excuse to break into my orcs and gobbos! :D

Exactly  >:D

Great start Mo! Nice to see him with some battle damage (not his own of course) :D looks like you will be busy. ;)

Nice green ork bibbles.

My humble offering, Thrugg Bullneck's patrol from RT.

Not all of them have been painted in Orktober, indeed the first squad and Thrugg were painted maybe two years ago, but the last two squads have been finished off just today.

This brings back memories of my reasonably priced three box horde of orcs way back then.
Snitchy sends.

They are a mix of manufacturers: Red Box, Goblin Factory, Ral Partha, and Grenadier.  Sorry for the quality as I haven't gotten my photo set up in great shape since a move a number of months ago!

Goodness Mike, that first goblin is a cute beggar!!! Swish paint work too.  :-*

TBC, that otherworld goblin does look unhinged! Careful he doesn't steal your socks and make a mess in the pantry. You've done a good job making him look like a minion of chaotic tricks, and less like a well behaved human child.

Cheers
Matt.

Most of them are plastic, and fantasy. This kind of topic may give me motivation to finally paint them !

Really cool figures !

It motivated me to search in my mess my oldhammer orcs, from Marauder/citadel. I found a lot of them, both plastic and metal, old fashion orcs and gobs, and even a couple of war machines.

I believe I'll build a band for skirmish, with the metal minis only, based on washers, and probably not this monther since I already have plenty of projects in progress. But I could take pics of the bare minis tommorow if any interest ?

I found some nice simple plastic flat bases this week end, I need to strip some old primer on the figures and rebase them properly, and if everything goes right, I should at least post the unpainted minis pictures before the end of "Orctober"  lol

I even found 3 trolls and very tiny goblins creatures hordes, I don't know the name but I'm pretty sure they are also Marauder/citadel figures.

Very nice freehand checks!

I've actually got some goblins on the painting bench right now, converting some Reaper Bones gobbos and other figures for Blood Bowl, but no way are they going to be finished during Orctober, so pics somewhere else in their own thread in due time!

amazing stuff!

I cannot compare to the output of many here, but this thread did inspire me to finish something to at least my level  :D

Something old from deep in the pile and one of Lancer Miniatures more recent orcs.

tactalvanic: You have nothing to be ashamed of. Those are some great-looking orcs!

spevna: Nice old-school skintone on that one. I'm also a fan of the freehand checks.

I'm a bit late posting these but I promise I finished them before the deadline but didn't photograph them in time  :)

Anyway this is some of the Orcs and Goblins from the old Grenadier range and they are classics IMHO. They are a warband for SoBH and I will post all of them in the fantasy forum hopefully soon.

I went for a yellow-green flesh colour with Vallejo Russian green, Russian uniform green and a highlight of green yellow.
