Title: Starship troopers Viking dropship?
Post by: The-closet-gamer on October 15, 2014, 01:57:26 AM
Did Mongoose ever release the Viking that was plastered all over their website a few years ago. I'm on the lookout for non 40k sci fi dropships. The nights are drawing in and my gaming buddy's want to get some proper gaming done since most of us are now single or divorced. In fact any suggestions for any dropship ideas are welcome.

The skyhook (the smaller one) got released as a limited run resin kit (I have one - it's cool) as to the skyhook, Mongoose never finished it and to the best of my knowledge the one that you used to see on their website got sold on eBay when they lost the SST licence.

Sorry if this is OT, but didn't it seem as if the Viking was for drop off, and the Skyhook for pickup? Almost as if assumed high attrition was factored even into the transport designs.

I assume the Galoob toy was too small unless you were playing 15mm, right?

The skyhook resin, was it by a cottage/garage manufacture or was it Mongoose and what scale was it. I remember seeing one a while ago.

I think SELWG used Galoob for their demo game years ago using GW imperial guard for the mobile infantry so it might work?
