I had an extra Reaper Bones Cthulhu and was looking for a project to use him for. He has ended up as part of two different bits of scenery. This first one is to be a kind of barometer of imminent terror within a game or perhaps the timer for a summoning of something from beyond.
Some work in progress shots:

Just a typical starry night viewed through the window of an ancient ruin.

Ieeeeee!
Each piece has a little magnet glued into its base that allows it to attach to the metal backing in the window. Still have a little sculpting to do where the pieces join into the surface and then paint it up.

Really cool idea and love where this is going 8)

Brilliant idea and wonderful execution!
-
What a brilliant turn counter! Will be adapting that somehow! Nicely done!
-
Indeed. There was a horror film in the '80's if i remember correctly called, "The Prince of Darkness", that had a minor role for none less than Alice Cooper. I forgot how the plot goes but at some point there's a huge mirror that functions as a portal and the image of a monstreous arm coming thrue the mirror comes to mind. ;-)

Great idea :-* :-* I look forward to you painting this up!

so.......i just picked up my reaper bones cthulhu....is the head supposed to be that soft ?
-
Yes, the head is intentionally softer than other bones miniatures. I think this has something to do with molding all of the tentacles.

hmmmm do you know how it reacts to army painters quickshader ?
i had some softer inis react with the acetone or whatever is in there and stay sticky and never dry before
and dont want to risk it on this one !
-
I moved to only painting with with brush on acrylics about three years ago, so I don't know anything about army painter stuff.
-
hmmmm seems i will have to test it on a tentacle then :)
-
Brilliant idea! Looks great already. :)
-
Sooo, Skrapwelder, have a shot of the finished piece?
-
Produce this or sell it to me !
