Title: Little Big Men transfers question.
Post by: Johnno on October 23, 2014, 12:57:25 AM
Hopefully this is the right place.
I have some Gripping Beast Anglo-Danes (metals) mainly with circular shields and a couple kite shields.
My question is which dark age round shield decals ( large or small) will fit? And would the kite shields designed for GB Normans work for my danish kite shield?
Hopefully someone who has used them can help me.
Thanks

Have you tried emailing Little Big Men and asking for the diameters of the transfers - they are usually very helpful.

This is what I've stored away in my e-mail archive so far:

I recently got information from Steve at Little Big Men Studios about what were the right transfers for the Wargames Factory plastics. He doesn't make a specific set for them and has been pointed out the Gripping Beast plastic ones are not quite the right size.

I provided him with the size of the shields and he gave me the following suggestions:

Viking and small Saxon shields: Wargames Factory
Large Saxon: large sized Gripping Beast
Saxon kite: Crusader or Wargames Factory

All of these are available at his website.

These are transfers and not decals.  Cut them out and they already have adhesive to stick to the shields.  Wait a day for the adhesive to set well then paint the edges of the shield (and back ).

From that I would think you'd want the Large Dane shield transfers to match up to Gripping Beast
