Title: Cute Cheap Cheeky ships and some sea monsters

So I decided to make some ships using the following:

Rules wise I had been using my own. I had also considered Trafalgar GW Historical rules but then I decided to try out Kiss me Hardy by Too Fat Lardies available here: http://toofatlardies.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=52

What is great about this is he also has the cards available for download as well as army lists for Trafalgar.

So the idea is to use these obviously for pirates but also possibly Napoleonic - purists might cringe but I can hardly afford another project. Was likewise thinking that these games could almost be used as a campaign. So an engagement on this scale might then be scaled up and played as if in microcosm with 28mm minis.

So 11 ships in total plus 1 wreck and 2 sea monsters - not sure how the fat Hardy rules can be made to handle the monsters but be fun coming up with something...

I am also looking for a fort of some sort as shore line gun battery vaguely suitable for this scale which I guess is akin to the Wizkid pirate ships. Likewise thinking doing small harbour town.

Not bad at all...had you considered using the old Pirates of the Spanish Main plastic ships?  Super cheap and you can just paint the edges for a reasonable ship in quick time.
