One so far! An Otherworld Miniatures giant. I've got three more on the go and then an Ettin to do plus a few other odds and sods.

Fun to do although I'm sure I'll be sick of painting bare skin by the end of the week. I was a bit unsure about doing the eyes at first seeing as they're so much bigger than most of the eyes I have to paint. I didn't want to just have big black blobs for eyes so went with a more realistic three colour eye. I'm pleased enough with how they turned out.
-
Lovely skin work. The eyes certainly look good.
All the best,
Helen
-
Indeed. This is a sterling paintjob. ;-)
-
Really good job! Now thinking about buying that giant myself ;D
-
That is a cracking paint job; love the tones on the fur and fingers/toes.
I'm a fan of Otherworld Miniatures and amongst my modest horde I have a frost giant to build and paint at some point.
-
The Big Guy looks TERRIFIC...GREAT skin tones & WONDERFUL brushwork do their magic. For moi the eyes & hair make your creation stand out. VERY WELL DONE!
-
that's beautiful
-
Gorgeous work :o
-
Wow, that's amazing, how much you got out of the mini. Wonderful, seriously. :-*
-
Skin tone is great!
-
Thanks for the comments everyone.
It's certainly a nice model and not too big either. I always expect giants to be absolutely huge but this fella's what you might call 'realistically' giant at just over 50mm.
Should have another finished today at some point.
-
It's lovely - I always like the whole 'limited palette/muted tones' thing you do, (which I keep trying to copy and failing!), but I think it really suits this sculpt; they match up beautifully!
-
Very nice indeed. Thumbs up!

Me too (both the liking and the copying/failing parts).

Brilliant, just brilliant.

Jolly good :) very nice painting on that fellow :)
-
Wonderful personality you've injected into that!
-
I like that :)
-
Awesome!
-
Excellent work!
-
A couple of additional big chaps done (bar the base work). Both slight conversions of the stock models (not converted by me).

Absolutely incredible. I have to say, you are one amazing painter!
-
Everything is perfect, but the faces... oh the faces! They look so alive! You bring tem to life in a way unbelievable for me :o
-
it's the eyes.
the eyes are perfect

it's the eyes.
the eyes are perfect
Thanks :)
It's all down to that one little dot of white on the edge of the pupil. It makes such a difference.
-
BRILLIANT WORK once more! The new Big Fellows look as WONDERFUL as the first one. The eye & flesh tones...love the five o'clock shadow...make the minis. The Fellow with the bone has become a favorite with moi. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Brill! Genius!
As has been said the eyes and the stubble are perfect and soooo characterful!
-
Fantastic!
-
Those guys are superb StoneCold! Just lovely! :-* :-*
I like the two conversions too :D
Cheers
Matt.

Thanks again everyone for the comments. The last of the four giants is done and awaiting another coat of varnish and the base work to be finished.

By the way, I've set up a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Stone-Cold-Lead-Figure-Painting/1002207576472922) now for those who are into that. So if that's your thang head over there and give me a like or a follow or whatever it is Facebookers do. Much appreciated. ;)

Yet another OUTSTANDINGLY WELL DONE creation! A Grand Finale Goup Portrait of the four Big Dudes would be a splendid way to cap the thread.
-
Great work on the skin & I love the guy with the bag o' loot.
Can't wait to see what you do with the basing. :)
-
More beautiful work :)
I'd be interested to know what colour primer you use and do you brush it or spray it?

I use black primer. Citadel Chaos Black spray which I find to be quite hard wearing and is pretty matt. It doesn't really have any effect on how the final paint job looks with these though. I'll sometimes use white spray if a model is going to be painted in light colours that might have poor coverage (like the Antenocitis Workshop cars I painted recently).

I've been using the Citadel sprays on my minis if priming in batches but have been considering brush priming individual figures especially now as the weather has turned colder and I spray outside in my shed/workshop which is not heated.

Very cool group!
-
Painted up an Ettin as well. He's a bit bigger than the giants so is quite a hefty piece. I'll do the basing later.

Stunning :-* :-*
-
Although the miniature seems to moi to be too handsome for an Ettin, your WONDERFUL brushwork & FINE use of colors have made it a REMARKABLE creation nonetheless. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Wonderful brushwork.
:-* :-* :-*
I am going to have to pay you to paint something for me soon.
Something that WONT be gamed with, of course.
:D
-
Beautiful painting.
-
I wonder if those two get along with one another lol haha
Very nice paint work. Again. Well done indeed :)
-
They way you paint flesh is impressive. Very well done.

There are more pics on my blog and facebook pages (links in my sig).

Very nice, that's a lot of skin to paint too. Great work!
-
Really nice painting on these and the work on the bases is great.
-
Not bad! :-* :-* :-* the bases really set them off.
Cheers
Matt.
-
Excellent!! :-* :-* :-*
Where are the wee leafed plants on the bases from?

They're sculpted on the metal base toppers. I thought they might have looked a bit odd next to the grass tufts but I think they blend in well enough.
Thanks for the comments everyone. :)
-
Cheers Simon!

Brilliant work!
