Title: Biggles in Africa
Post by: Plynkes on December 11, 2006, 08:11:02 PM
I've finished my DH2, so thought you might like an update (I originally showed her off in the "Latest mini received" topic). Actually I finished her a couple of weeks ago, but have only just got around to taking some photos.

Here's some pics:

Now I consider myself a gamer and a painter rather than a modeller, and I was a bit "fingers and thumbs" when it came to putting her together. But I'm reasonably pleased with how she came out. The hardest part was painting the roundels. For some reason I didn't want to use decals. I think she's okay for the tabletop, all things considered.

Making another sweep of the lake, Biggles finally spotted her. There she was: The Prinzessin Charlotte in all her terrible splendour.

After weeks of fruitless searching, Biggles finally spotted one of the wily Von Hanneken's elusive columns.

Outraged by Bill's ridiculous new names for the Great War boards, Biggles emptied the magazine of his Lewis Gun into TMP before turning and heading for home...

Cheers.

Awesome work, sir. For roundels, I ALWAYS use decals, because I just can´t get them... well... round. I´m just happy that X-12275, the spanish P-26 I´m currently painting up, apparently did not have roundels (red wingtips and a hull band instead). A very nice plane, and I won´t just say it because the DH2 is one of my all-time favourite fighter craft.

I also like the light blue stand. I guess I´ll go with the classic black for the P-26, but merely because it´ll look better with the metal finish of the plane.

Nicely done, Poly. The strafing of the TMP boards was a nice touch.
