I've bought the pretty miniature figurines' martians and I'm planning to include them as the arch-enemies of my venusian amazons.
I've only one doubt, how to paint them.
Here some painted martians and a swamp lord (the little martian) I've found in the minifigs website.
I like the paint scheme, but I'm considering if paint the skin with green color and maybe the armor in dirty metal, while the helmet with red color.
I've found another painted martian that could inspire me:

While I'm evaluating the paint scheme, here the PA league I've done.
Background:
Thousands of years ago, few martians survivors fled from their dying world after the last days of the Techno-Biological wars between Mars and Venus.
They found refuge in the planet earth, as their venusian enemies did too. There they continued to fight their unending battle againts the venusians. Finally, the leaders of the opposing alien factions agreed to sign a truce and hid their people in the depths of the African jungle. Here for centuries the Martians and Venusians lived in relative peace, with only occasional skirmishes. However, the increasing human presence in the vicinity of their territories is annoying the martians and they are preparing themselves for war. They know well that, although still holders of the technological supremacy, they are greatly outnumbered by humans so they are planning to steal the lost cloning technology jealously preserved from their neighbors venusian.

yup I'd found them ta, but not the swamp men, not so keen on those but some of the martians could be useful, cheers :)
-
Here my first painted martian. This should be the paint scheme for all my martians.
-
Well done!
-
Nice choice of colours.
-
Here two more martians: the warlord and a pretorian with the yet painted legionary.
-
Those look awesome! Sweet paint job :D
-
Really nice work!
Nice choice of colours.
What ole Snappy said!
-
Here two more "pretorians".
-
Those are some creepy Martians! Well done. ;)
-
The colour scheme works for me!
Top job!
tt43.
-
Really nice. I went for the red color scheme but lost impetus as usual :(
-
Thanks, I changed the names for my league, my idea is that these martians are the real founders of the ancient sparta (that later will be just lead by humans).
A special thank to Dozing Dragon for his painted martian (the second example I've included in the first post of this topic), I copied the idea to use some metal on my martians, hope you will paint more martians. ;)
-
Here the last three martians, now the league is complete.
I've a martian tripod from miniature figurines that I will paint as a Terror and some swamp lords that will be fine martian minions (as a gang).
-
These are exceptional. I love them, great work.
-
Wow they look aces!
-
Finally I painted some minions for my martians. I used the swamp lords from Miniature Figurines.
I ordered more swamp lords miniatures, then I will do another league of martian minions ;)
-
Fantastic! I hope we get to see these guys in action. :D :D
-
Fantastic work. you should post them on the Minifigs' Facebook page. I'm sure they'd love to use them!
-
Cool! Nice additions.
Really nice to see you doing some pulp work again too.

Thanks :) I've yet posted the picture in their FB page ;)
-
Very nice, I love the colour scheme.
-
Here the "high command" for the new martian minions league I'm planning. I only need to paint another gang and the league will be complete:
-
Nice work. I wonder what the original plan as for these sculpts and why they didn't release them? Unless they were the original Swamp Lords and they decided to do something more bestial as they ended up releasing at the time?
-
Very cool! Great idea for a Pulp Alley league! ;)
-
...and then the martian minions league is finally complete ;)
Background:
The Perioeci are a subspecies of the Spartiati ruling caste. From ancient times, all new generations of martians are born from human females (heilotes female slaves or female amazon prisoners) thanks to an advanced techniques of hybridization done on the martian genetic code thousands of years ago (the martian males lost their females during the Technobiological Wars) Then a martian male could mate with an human female and a male (only male) martian could born. However often from this mating are born smaller and weaker martians, these sub-martians are considered inferior to the real Martians, but still have an higher rank to humans. They are the backdone of the Lacedaemon army.
