Took the 2nd Ed demo for a spin, introducing a buddy to the game, and noticed one or perhaps two small tweaks.
I liked the small but significant change to the cover rules!

huh theres a second ed demo ?

News to me; apparently announced with the Kickstarter.

That the one?

That's the one! I'd meant to have it available before the Kickstarter launched, but it wound up being one of many things that was delayed in the madness.
2nd Edition doesn't mess too much with the core mechanics of the game, and is mainly about streamlining and improving balance. The key differences you'll note in that demo are:
- Stacking cover saves, as Peabody has noted
- Reduced chance of Frenzy on the Insanity Table (now 1/6 instead of 1/3)
The keen-eyed will also note we now refer to Insanity tests in Psychology. In 1st Ed, we specified when individual Resolve tests didn't require an Insanity roll on failure, which led to some confusion, particularly in instances where we failed to make the specification. Rather than having to keep making this distinction, we instead introduced two separate classifications.

The stacking cover just makes sense.

The best medicine sometimes comes in the smallest bottles... ;)

Have not had a chance yet, but looking forwards to it.
:D
I have a feeling that not having played for a while may be an advantage.

Is there a typo or bug with the fishman movement in the demo?
-
Yeah, I noticed that too.
We played the Demo twice, once with the Fishman stats from the Demo and once with the old-school 1rst Ed. stats. Ol'fishy was more of a believable monster with the random movement. ::)

Oh bugger...
Of all the things to make a mistake on, the Demo Kit was definitely not near the top of my list. Poor Fishy got saddled with a Zombie profile, though thankfully at least with his own claws, and sans Stupid. I've corrected the profile and uploaded a new version of the PDF. For those that just want to cross out and correct on an existing printed copy, it should read:
