Hi all. After watching the 9 hours of extras on the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Extended Edition I was inspired to have a go at building my own Lake-Town. Starting with what will be an Inn. I'm expecting to get use from these building across various games in fantasy and pirates. Ironically being drawn back to Tolkien for my gaming needs comes after selling off nearly all my Lord of the Rings stuff ;D
WiP so far...

I like it so far. very inspiring.

So much so that you now have me thinking of building a 'Hillbilly' house on stilts for my Old West project.
;)

Cheers guys. I'm hoping I can stay the course on this project, at least until I have half a dozen buildings made. Knowing me though I'll be distracted by some other project lol
I'll at the very least finish and paint this one.

Considering how this could develop from such a BEAUTIFULLY crafted start, it boggles the mind...well boggles it more than its normal state in my case. Keep up the FANTASTIC WORK!

If you fail to finish this project you'll have a Gollum on your tail. Literally.
I couldn't be bothered with the films. Pissed me off when they took a slender volume, relatively, and tried to make it into as much movie as they did with the whole trilogy. Really!? Nah. Not this time, thank you very much.
Now, get back to work on the beginnings of a nice pirate town, sir!

I'm a massive Tolkien fan and I too was annoyed with the amount of playing about with such a simple story yet I still find myself drawn to the cinema to watch them.
I think it's the idea of a pirate town that'll keep me going with this project as that at least is a current project I haven't sold off all my figures for and never will. I've been away for a few days so I hope to continue with this tonight.

It looks very nice so far, and a pirate town is a good use for it -- until you can buy some more LotR minis to play with!
