Title: Supers painting club
Post by: chrisw on November 28, 2014, 05:39:53 PM
Hi all,
Have we had a painting club like the other boards have, if so can someone point me towards the thread?
If we haven't, is there any chance of doing one as
A) it would be fun
B)I always seem to miss the other ones
C) Santa seems to have given me 138 new dc herocliks to repaint and it would be a nice incentive to crack on with these.

Anyone else have thoughts on this
Regards,
 Chris

I'm up for it. Supers are almost all I'm painting right now. For reasons.

Good idea, I'd be in for some.

I'd be interested in this - I've been quietly stockpiling Reaper supers and Superfigs minis for the last year, and would love to put some paint on a few of them.

1) Love to see, this I said long ago when we did the Lovecraft one that it would be cool to see a supers one.

2) Set the start month to be Feb or March. Why? Holidays suck for me, plus I am doing prep for a large tournament. Thus scenery and such is drawing my attention and I would like to tie up a few other projects first before tackling them. And....

3) I have a huge tray of minis waiting to be painted and again love to wait for Feb or March for Rusti to get out his latest batch of Crossover Miniatures as well!

So who do we have to ask about it? The moderator?

On behalf of the LAF moderators...
A lot of busy things going on in real life for several of us just at the moment. Plus existing plans for a 'build something' contest early in the new year. And potentially another season of the Lead Painters League (LPL9!) not long after that...

So further painting clubs are on hold just for the moment.
But I'm sure they will return, and your bid has been logged :)

Thank you capt. Blood. It is sad when life gets in the way of toys!  lol
Would it be against the rules to do an 'in the style of painting club' thread? I know we wouldn't get the little icon at the bottom but just looking for something to push me along when my cliks arrive!
Regards,
Chris

Oh well, I finished 3 supers yesterday, so I'll just keep going on my own then...  ;)

Yep, me too....

And I've not put brush to mini in over a year!

I haven't participated in any of the previous clubs, but I think I'd pitch in if there was a Supers Club.  I'm sure I'll still be plugging away at mine whenever it happens.  ;)

I have a few marvel herocliks left that will last me until I get my dc ones for Xmas. So the question is do we start an 'unofficial' one as practice for the real one later next year, do we just wait, or do we just do our own thing and not post pictures.  I would like to do the unofficial option but it is a long way to one hundred if I'm the only one doing it......

Chris

I'd likely be in as well. Wether there's a specific place for it or not, I'll likely be doing a dozen or more supers in the next few months too.

Well, lets get something going. It could just be along the lines of the Army Painters threads, or someone could start "The Unofficial Supers Club" using official posting rules :)

I say we wait - it'll allow more to join and get ready (so we can get to 100 and not run out of steam).

As the super villain Captain B once said - there's a few things happening, but the request has been noted).

Hi folks,

on behalf of the Forum Administration and Moderating team, I'm not exactly happy to inform you that for various reasons beyond our control, the Supers Painting Club will have to be postponed until some time in the new year.

There will, however, be another official 100 Painting Club opened at a later point (this week). The exact board and theme will be a surprise, though.

You could check with a Mod and do a supercember thread ;) pop in what's painted that month. it's best to leave the official club till it's on. You front want to spoil the entheusiasm with a pre club club.

Cheers
Matt.

well, there is still the "what I painted recently" board, and noone can stop You from pooling Your achievements into one thread after all...

unless you are after collecting some official badge of course....  ;)

in that case, you will have to wait until the badge is granted  :D

Well as I have about 150 repaint to do I could use 100 for the unofficial practice and still leave 50 for the real thing - I've just got the school holidays coming up and would like to set a good target for them. Forget re writing schemes of work, I want to paint batman!!!
