So far I have only come across three ranges for musketeers. By that I mean dedicated lines, making the characters from the story.
Eureka has started a range of 40mm figures. this has the 4 musketeers, Rochefort and 4 different cardinals guard. in support they have 6 differnt figures for a total of 15 figures in the range. they also sell some scenic items for this scale as well. This range was recently expanded to incled the supporting characters and I have heard that by next year it will grow again.
Steve Barber models has a range of 42mm figures. this range is very limited having only 3 of the 4 musketeers, along with 3 different Kings musketeers, then the Cardinal and 3 different cardinals guard. this range has not been expanded upon since it has come out.
Now the grand daddy of the ranges, Redoubt. although classed as 28mm the figures are very large and do not mix well with other manufacturers, but considering that they mix well with Redoubt own ECW range, there are more than enough choices and options to make whatever setup you want.

MUSKETEERS (on musketeer tabards)
The Musketeers face the Cardinal's Guard!
TM 1- Athos on guard in high collar, hooped sleeves and gloves.
TM 2- Porthos in lace collar and baggy trousers charging, sword and dagger.
TM 3- Aramis in double ruff collar thrusting, and holding lace pomander.
TM 4- D'Artagnon parrying down with dagger, riposting with sword.
TM 5- Fat servant loaded down with flagon and packs, holding bottle.
CARDINAL'S GUARD (in tabard)
TM 6- Guard with wide lace collar, slashing with sword, holding dagger.
TM 7- Guard 'en garde Alfieris' high lace collar and stuffed breeches.
TM 8- Guard lunging forward, buttoned and lace breeches, boots turned down.
TM 9- Guard parrying high, ruff collar, high boots.
TM 10- Guard with sword, pistol in left hand, striped sleeves, plain collar.
GENTLEMEN, DANDIES, SWORDSMEN ( in fashionable clothes)
TM 11- Swordsman lunging, high ruff collar, patterned seams, ribboned breeches, cloak rolled around left arm.
TM 12- Swordsman parrying, wide lace collar, plain coat, baggy breeches, cloak draped over left arm.
TM 13- Swordsman in shirt with rolled sleeves, tucked breeches with ribbons, cross parrying.
TM 14- Dandy in high laced collar, ribboned coat and breeches, fancy hose, stabbing with dagger, parrying with sword.
TM 15- Dandy in coat with hanging sleeves, gloves, fancy lace dressing, attacking, hat in free hand.
TM 16- Gentleman with high double ruff, slashed doublet, holding drawn sword, scabbard in free hand.
ASSASSINS (in close fitting clothing)
TM 17- Assassin in tight doublet, firing pistol across raised arm.
TM 18- Assassin in button breeches, concealing dagger thrust with cloak.
TM 19- Assassin stabbing forward with dagger, holding sheathed sword.
TM 20- Assassin advancing warily, sword outstretched, dagger in left hand.
VARIOUS OTHER FIGURES
TM 21- The King in court dress with walking stick.
TM 22- The Queen with fan.
TM 23- Cardinal Richelou in half armour and cloak.
TM 24- Kings guard with halberd in slashed doublet and hose.
TM 25- Cardinal Richelou in long robe holding Bible.
TM 26- Lady De Winter in dress, holding a mask to her face.
TM 27- Rocheforte, sword in hand, holding hat.
TM 28- Guard sergeant in tabard holding halberd.
TM 29- Musketeer with musket at shoulder rest.
TM 30- Mounted Musketeer with musket on hip. (use horse TMH 1)
TM 31- Mounted Kings / Cardinals Guard with pistol held up. (use horse TMH 1)
TM 32- Kings / Cardinals Guard advancing with halberd.
TM 33- "Mine Host" Tavern keeper.
TM 34- Bruiser / Bouncer / Ruffian standing with club.
TM 35- Bruiser / Bouncer / Ruffian with shouldered club.
TM 36- Cook / Scullery maid with ladle.
TM 37- Scullery maid / Serving wench with tray.
TM 38- Barmaid with tankard.
TM 39- Barmaid with tray of tankards.
TM 40- Washerwoman stirring with club like pole.
TM 41- Washerwoman walking with club like pole.
TM 42- Musician in short jacket with false sleeves and feathered bonnet playing the lute.
HORSES ($2.85 each)
TMH 1- Walking horse
EXTRAS
TMX 1- Pack of five dead and wounded Guards or Musketeers, some with separate heads ... could also be used for drunks or morning reveille $12.50

considering hte cost that the EUreka is 6 (USD) a figure and Redoubt is only 2.25 a figure, I really feel that 25mm is the way to go if you want to game out this period. Steve Barber figures are 8.80 a piece and very limited so I can not really suggest that line.

Gladiator Games do a range of 12 packs for the Three Musketeers. I haven't seen these in person, but they are illustrated on their website.

:lol: I'll get a few and use them in a scenario where the kids at the orphanage try to become musketeers.

I like the Gladiator musketeers! They have that sort of late 80's innocence about them.
Don't forget that you can appropriate command figures and certain kinds of soldiers from Thirty Years' War lines, as well as figures from the English Civil War. Granted, these won't have floppy hats and tabards, but they are period-specific and better represented among manufacturers.
My own personal preference is for the post-ECW period, around the time of the Glorious Revolution. There are quite a few political conspiracies from this period that make a good backdrop to games--the wars of Louis XIV, the first Jacobite factions, the modernization of Russia and the wars with Sweden. It's almost 50 years after Dumas' setting for the Three Musketeers, but that isn't to say there isn't a lot of action for men of the sword.
This period also corresponds nicely to the heydey of the buccanneers...

There was also a blister from Ral Partha's Encounters Of The Imagination line. It was entitled "Kings Guards".
I'm sure I held that blister once in my hand... but I'm not sure if I bought it (and it's still lying around here somewhere in a box) or not.

I think the figures are 28mm, not that small but still not as large as the new 32mm figures and of course not big enough to mix them up with 40mm's.

I have those Ral Partha Minis. They are something for collectors but not really Good or Special. The metal is very soft and you can twist the weapons. But they do there job as Musketeers. I still recommend Redoubt ! Good poses !

Of course it is, like all the old minis they're not cast from white metal but from a lead alloy.

I have just received the complete range of 40mm Musketeers by Eureka.
They are VERY nice minatures. At 40mm they are a lot bigger than I'm used to, but the casting and detailing is superb.
I have also ordered The Three Musketeers ( and Four Musketeers) DVD's as source material when I'm painting. I thought as these were based on the 1973 film I would paint them up the same . Historical accuracy....what's that!
I haven't got any other 40mm stuff but I really like these minis, which will take pride of place on display when they're finished.
I also really like the Redoubt range. Didn't someone say that they don't mix with other 28mm minis? Why is this, are they too big or small?
Anyhow, as was stated there is enough in the range for most needs. Once I've done my 40mm minis , I'll be ordering some of these.

Too big. I'm not sure how they would stand up next to a 40mm figure. But they are bigger than 28s, I think closer to 32mm.

The Redoubt figures are significantly bigger than any other '28mm' historicals I've ever seen, which has put me off buying them since I have considerable numbers of c. 1600 figures from Foundry and others.
That's a shame, because they are nice - I've painted the whole range for a customer.
I have high hopes for the new Brigade Games range.

I have the Redoubt figures and the range is very comprehensive. Yes theya re way bigger tahna ny 28mm figs on the market. So they are not compatible.
I also really like the Eureka figures. Especially as they are taken straight from the Richard Lester fillms.
Gloire is going on my Christmas list. :)

The Brigade Games swashbucklers are magnificent. First of all, they're really 28mm sized, and fit luvverly with Foundry's Pirates for scale. Secondly, the sculpting is really great. Lon has said that they're the sculptor's favorite work to date (the sculptor is Paul Hicks, who also did Brigade's Mob Wars and PacWars lines).
They're quite a lot of fun. The facial expressions are neat and the outfits seem more swashbucklery than Redoubts. They have big bucket boots and a couple of styles of floppy hats festooned with ostrich feathers. I so very desperately need to get them painted up for this weekend, it's not even funny.
The ladies are great as well. I love that they're not wearing Fredrick's of Hollywood wear.
