This very tiny 28mm Hasslefree miniature sculpting was obviously inspired by a 1916 oil painting named "Miranda - The Tempest" by John William Waterhouse after that very story by William Shakespeare. The picture shows her in a DRY blue dress standing on a rocky coast, but I imagined her standing soaked by the rainstorm at the north sea shore staring to the horizon and awaiting things to come...

Beautiful paintwork, Michi, the translucent method really works!
-
Wow, that's really good technical painting here !
-
:o
Michi,
WOW!
Words fail me.
Thank You for posting the pics!
-
Absolutely beautiful work.
-
Beautiful artwork! :o :-*
-
Lovely work! :-*
-
Ohhhhh Michi ;D ;)
-
Fantastic example of translucent fabric.
-
A+ for your exercise! ;)
-
Fantastic painting :o
-
Amazing painting skills, in particular as the sculpting (or the casting) of the mini doesn't look brilliant. I wouldn't dare to paint it even without any fancy effect.
-
Beautiful work. :-*
-
Extremely effective.
-
Looks grand 8) 8)
Was it your first attempt and did you add to the skin colour to make the dress colour?
cheers
James

No it wasn´t, I did it before. The secret is to paint the dress first, add some flesh to the dress colour and highlight the flesh portions before you highlight the dress where no flesh shines through.
-
Ah, that makes a lot of sense 8)
cheers

Thank you very much gentlemen.
I do own a blog where I publish photos too. Statistics tell me from where the readers are and which sources were used to see the posts.
Now I wonder why somebody else is repetedly posting my work on TMP. I want to believe that he/she does it, because he/she likes what I do, but there seem to be an entire crowd of experts on TMP who think completely different of what I´ve painted and comment very precisely what I´ve done wrong. Not to mention that none of them have the balls to comment on my own blog if they have to rant.

The more I have to thank you for your appreciation and nice behaviour, honest criticism and kind comments. :hello:

I was somewhat amazed when someone posted an extremely negative comment on your work after Tango posted on PMT. It was almost as if it was about an entirely different subject and yet it was your pic but it did not come up as well.
-
Does the 'T' in TMP stand for 'Tossers'?
-
I have to admit having owned this model, the sculpt is fantastic and although I removed her from my idea of standing on a cliff edge looking for her husband returning from sea ( and that was not knowing the story behind the sculpt so quite ironic really) because i could not get the paint right for that kind of wet clothe look, I am glad to see someone who has managed to crack it very well.
Well done indeed :)

Nah, just for 'Troll'...
That's a very nicely done piece, especially given its diminutive size. Bravo Michi.
-
Excellent paint job :-*
-
Ah, yes, Tango. A good 50% of his posts is what TMP is nowadays, and 0% is original, all reposts of others work or publcications. Best not let stuff TMPers say bother you, I'm pretty certain 99% of the negative repliers still play with unpainted or basecoated lead and could only wish they could paint as well as you do.
Like I said on the Guild lovely work, and amazed you painted the flesh on a clothed figure to get this excellent result, bravo!
-
Great paintjob.
-
I wouldn't worry much about TMP comments, keep in mind that very few people there post pictures of their figures. The ones that do usually post other places as well. The 'big names' on TMP are mostly noteworthy for post count.
Your translucency looks good to me, I find it hard to pull off. I always like your colors and tones, they have a sort of creamy and pure look that's hard to describe in words ;)
-
Michi, Who cares about TMP.
Please do continue to post here on LAF where the ladies and gentlemen who apreciate good painting and wargaming are. ;)
Lovelly work. :-* :-* :-*
