So, I have decided to try my hand at building my own Land Ironclads to go with the wonderful new game from Wessex Games. Feel free to take a peak over at my blog...
I See Lead People http://leadpeople.blogspot.com/ (http://leadpeople.blogspot.com/)
It is still a WIP but I think it is coming along nicely, especially seeing as I am doing this on the fly with little planning ahead. Sometimes it's fun to model on the fly.
Hope you enjoy.
Thanks,

What new game?? Where am I? What am I doing here, and why...?
-
Aaaahhh.. 'Land Ironclads'.... ;D
Some other guys also had a new 'Aeronef'-style game underways, if I remmber correctly?
-
Ah! Land Ironclads! A fine game indeed! No doubt you've seen my LI battle report, I do like the game...

Your Ironclad looks very interesting indeed. Can't wait to see it finished.
Are you going to buy any infantry/guns etc?

Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, I did mean "Land Ironclads". I love the minis that Brigade is producing, but I also love crafting my own, so I dove into some of the bits I had.
42, your spokey wheeled land cruiser, plus a few others I have seen, were the inspiration for my design. I do plan on buying some more troops as time goes on, but I do have a lot to draw from already.
I have some infantry blocks in 2mm as well as some skirmishers in 2mm. Add to this some old 6mm power armor suits that are going to get a new life as contraptions as well as some 6mm armored sci-fi infantry that bear a strong resemblence to the steam suits from "Steam Boy" and I have the makings of a nifty starter force.
I am curious what minis you were using for your Impervious Suit infantry? Are those simply blocked infantry columns painted in metalic colors?
Thanks,

Glad you liked them! though I must confess that I only own the Tripods, the rest belongs to a good friend of mine (he's on here, "Mr.Marx" I think..)
The Infantry is indeed simply 3mm painted in metalic colours. At that scale, you can't tell the difference!

Yeah!, Land-Ironclads!.
I'm glad that Im not the only person in the world that plays this game!
-
Nice conversion. :D
I'll plan to get me a starter set of Land Ironclads, too.

Doing my part to get the game out there, here in the Northwest.

Would you believe a game was played even out here in Malta? :D
-
Nice job, you must have great eye sight. :o

Thanks all for the kind words. I hoping to get detailing soon. Why the eye sight cmment? It's not that small. :)

Thanks,
Now they are cool! And really, really big...
We don't add any specific country markings to our Land Ironclads; it means you can use them for any scenario.

Are they that big? I had no miniatures to draw reference from. I have so many more of the power armor that I used for the Steam Colossi that I'll likely make more, even though I don't want to go too crazy with walking death machines.
I have a few bits pieces that I am currently looking for other bits to make them into land ironclads, including some Verne-style mega cannons.
