Title: This Is Not a Test - (Game Play Videos!!!)
Post by: Deathwing on February 09, 2015, 03:49:48 AM
Hi folks.  I've mentioned my upcoming wargame on here before, but I wanted to show off the first battle report for This Is Not a Test.  Called Give Me Shelter, it's a wasteland tale of derring-do, betrayal, and mutants rats.

Lovely set up and great set of photos. Who doesn't love mutated critters (of all type)?

Thanks. One of the things I wanted to showcase with the rules is the ability to use any miniatures you want.

It's Raturday folks!  It's the nest day of the week.  Here are the rats that will be releasing soon.  Sculpted by Federico Genovese and painted by Gregory Zuniga.  Inspired by the old GW Necromunda rats that are no longer available.  If these do well, I will make more with even crazier mutations.

They look like they will fit in perfectly with the Necromunda rats, I'd certainly like a set :)

What a great report.
Love the terrain, minis and the critters.
I want some of those rats, very cool.

Those rats look really good. I especially like the spines, really thin, good in scale. Would love to see more of them  :)

nspired by the old GW Necromunda rats that are no longer available

I'm a fan of this trend. Everyone could use some mutant rats, these are the best I've seen. I'll buy more than a few sets.

I love the rats as well. They've got a great variety of mutations and would no doubt leave me running with my hands over my head if I saw one!

Thanks guys.  If the rats do well I will of course make more varieties and alternative poses.  Right now I am thinking some tentacles, eyestalks, and maybe one with a more human looking head.  :)

Greetings everyone.  Thought I would share a few more models that are coming out.

First, we have the rad roach.  Are your boots big enough to stomp this bug?  This not-so little guy was sculpted by Peder Bartholdy and painted by Gregory Zuniga.

Next up we have the razor rattler.  A nasty varmint ith a nasty disposition and a poisonous bite.  Model sculpted by Peder Bartholdy and painted by Tanya Brewer.

(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y202/azrael2305/Gallery-Rattler.jpg) (http://s6.photobucket.com/user/azrael2305/media/Gallery-Rattler.jpg.html)

Finally, we have gas mask girl, the company mascot for World's End Publishing.  She comes with a machete, a choice of heavy pistol or assault rifle, and a golf bag full of problem solvers.  Sculpted by Brother Vinni and painted by Tanya Brewer.

(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y202/azrael2305/Gallery-GasMaskGirl.jpg) (http://s6.photobucket.com/user/azrael2305/media/Gallery-GasMaskGirl.jpg.html)

That's all for now.  More will be coming in the next week or so as we prepare to officially open our store.

All the best.

Yes ! Radroaches.
can we get a comparison shot of those roaches next to a 28mm ? Or you could just mention the size of their bases (I'm guessing 20mm diameter?)
Title: Re: This Is Not a Test - 28mm Post-Apocalyptic Skirmish Game (New Stuff!)
Post by: Deathwing on March 06, 2015, 01:49:13 AM
Sorry Zizi I missed your post. Due to casting concerns the roaches are a little bigger.  The model is mounted on a 30mm base.  In the future, I may also produce smaller versions if these sell well.

From the product description:

The Rad Roach is a multi-piece miniature that is approximately 28mm long and 13mm tall, not including the antennae.  Sculpted by Peder Bartholdy.

Here is a scale shot with another one of our miniatures.

Hope that answers your questions.  Hope to have these ready for launch by end of March.  All the best.

I actually played a game at Cold Wars this weekend. The figures are even nicer up close. The game itself was quick with a really interesting initiative system, but what grabbed me most was the depth of the rules themselves. This game is been in development for two years and it shows by how well play tested the rules are when you use them. I am pretty excited about the rules and the system. :o

Hi everyone.  Thought I would show off the remaining miniatures for Wave 1 of This Is Not a Test.  Hope you don't mind but going to throw a lot of picture out you.  The current plan is to go live May 1st, but initial supplies will be a limited.  Hope to solve that problem quickly.

First up we have the Depend-O-Bot.  He's a freelancer that can be added to any warband. He comes with three total arm options.

(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y202/azrael2305/Prod-DependOBot.jpg) (http://s6.photobucket.com/user/azrael2305/media/Prod-DependOBot.jpg.html)

Next we have the psychic husk, he's the result of psychics frying their brain from two much use. Now he's just a critter than wanders the wastes randomly shooting psychic powers at whoever gets to close.

(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y202/azrael2305/Prod-PsychicHusk.jpg) (http://s6.photobucket.com/user/azrael2305/media/Prod-PsychicHusk.jpg.html)

Then we have our first warband, the Peacekeepers. They keep the peace for a small service fee.

Their leader is the Road Marshall. He comes with two arm options (SMG/Pistol) and two heads (riot helmet and campaign hat).
(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y202/azrael2305/Prod-Peacekeeper1.jpg) (http://s6.photobucket.com/user/azrael2305/media/Prod-Peacekeeper1.jpg.html)

Next we have an elite option, the Outrider.  She comes with a choice of two heads (campaign hat and ponytail).

For boots on the ground, the Peacekeepers have their Officers.  This pack comes with two miniatures with two gun options and three different heads (to campaign hats and plain head).

And now the close combat support, the Line-breaker.  He comes with two arm options (pistol and riot shield) and two head options (helmet visor up and down).

Finally, to give you a little bit of variety to your forces, we have the Peacekeeper Variant Heads.  These will be a moderately priced pack of three heads.
(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y202/azrael2305/Web-Peacekeeper2-AltHead.jpg) (http://s6.photobucket.com/user/azrael2305/media/Web-Peacekeeper2-AltHead.jpg.html)

Here is a group shot of the Peacekeepers so you can see how they scale among themselves.

(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y202/azrael2305/Prod-PeacekeeperGroup.jpg) (http://s6.photobucket.com/user/azrael2305/media/Prod-PeacekeeperGroup.jpg.html)

So that’s it.  Everything should be ready to go by May 1st.  The book is still being laid out, but will show it off as soon as it is ready.
As always check us out on Facebook and at worldsendpublishing.com.  Thanks.

"Are you going to be at Historicon this year?"

Oh yes, I will be a Historicon this year.  I will of course be helping all day at Hobby U, but at night I enter the wasteland.

I will have Friday and Saturday night games at 8 PM.

“Where Birds No Longer Fly”

After the Great Fall, Scorpio Air Force Base was abandoned and wasteland creatures of all sorts now infest the airfields.  Now a small group of mutants is trying their luck at reclaiming the base and the other wasteland factions are not going to let the muties have all the fun.  This is all pretty much a bad idea, but there is profit to be made or at least that’s what you’ve been told.

Cool.  Stout fellow, very boisterous.  He ran into Howard Whitehouse, another excellent Englishman of some note, at my game and they quickly went into British speak.  It was quite a thing to witness.  If you see him, tell him to get to work on those mutants.  :)

Hi Deathwing, I got a message telling me to re-download the game as there was an error. How big an error? How much has changed?

Very little actually.  An intrepid reader noticed that the primitive weapon chart listed the blunderbuss twice and the entry for the musket was missing completely.  This was obviously a copy and paste error and I wanted to fix it.

Greetings wastelanders! The folks at the Fool's Daily have posted the first part, out of three, of their interview of yours truly. I talk about game mechanics, my inspiration, other post-apocalypse games, and even delve into the future of TNT.

Won't you kindly take a listen.

Rules question- on Page 89, Reclaimers are listed in their description as being allowed to take a power armour suit for +1 relic in the page description, but in the summary purchase just above, they are listed as having 'Field Strip, extra laser or plasma relic'. Is it both abilites, either or is one a mis-print?

I basically want to fit a power armoured guy with a gatling laser into my lineup- does he have to be an arbitrator in that instance (because reclaimers do not have the up-armed skill?) burning my 2 regular starting relic selections (power armour, gatling laser)?

Ah, that is an error.  Previously, reclaimers could get an extra weapon relic, but I decided it was more fluffy for power armor and also made BoS style warband possible.  So the table is incorrect.  As for your second question, you are correct that only arbiters get access to the Gatling laser.  So yes, you would burn through your relic choices, though your leader still gets his free allocation for a relic.  Also, you can get a third relic after a few games and I will say the next book will have a warband progression so that as you get more experience you get access to more relics and elite choices.  If you simply can't wait, I would definitely let you take the model and just ignore the relic cap, as long as your opponents can do the same.  Happy gaming.

Funny thing is i was just catching up on Ash's vids and was coming over here to post the very same thing you did above.
Must think alike since we live so close. :-)
Always love the genre and liked his blurb on the rules and settings.
Looks good. Like that you can use whatever minis and come up with whatever fun you want and terrain to fight over.
Really looking good. Keep it up.
