Title: Rocky Formations
Post by: Sangennaru on February 13, 2015, 08:26:07 PM
Hi everyone!
Following the same technique i used for my Iron Clouds Islands (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=36578.msg763070#msg763070), i've started doing some rocky formations for my 15mm gaming. Of course, as long as you don't add some "scale markers", such as oil barrels or weapons, the same stuff can be used for 28mm as well.

The idea is to do something very quickly. But the naked styrene hills have always been a big "meh" for me, and i wanted to do something better... with the same effort.

The idea is: starting from a structure in styrofoam, i covered it in two layers of plaster, and then i texturized it with the same concepts of my island tutorial on my website (http://www.thelazyforger.com/tutorials/sculpting-islands/).

I'll do a quick videotutorial in the near future, but for now i can just show some pictures.

that's the "spoiled" plaster piece:

As scale references i glued a few details on the rocky spike, since it was a first test of the technique.

...and here it is: a few ClearHorizon soldiers fighting back an horde of mad robots (sculpted by myself!)!

Comments or questions?
