Title: Poldercon - A Lardy Perspective
Post by: Lardy Rich on February 17, 2015, 01:42:18 PM
Afternoon all,

I posted a piece about the very enjoyable Poldercon on Lard Island News which, I hope,  will be of interest to some.  I must say that I enjoyed the convention very much but, more than that, it gave me an opportunity to consider wargames shows generally.  For what it's worth, it is here:

By all accounts it really was a great success - thanks for this additional review and set of photos.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. Here's hoping for something similar in the UK!

Looks brilliant - well done the organisers!  I very much hope to get to this if it keeps running.  Good write up and amazing Dutch terrain!  Thanks for posting, Rich.

The all-participation-game model with dedicated scheduled slots for each game makes it sound closer to the North American gaming convention model instead of the UK 'show' model. I like the idea of demos and seminars, though, that would be an interesting addition to a con.
