Just to say Ian has previewed some Persians he is currently working on.
-
That's the third Persian range to be announced in a few months after Westfalia and Khurasan : it's quite intriguing to see how a relatively obscure army has suddenly become the latest wargaming rage.
-
Us wargamers are nothing but esoteric!

Mashallah is all I can say. :--)
I wish the images would be a tad bigger tho.

Given they are by Irregular I doubt you really do. ;)
Clearer photos will hardly boost sales. As miniatures go, Irregular make great fishing sinkers.

I used to have a similar opinion, until I painted some. Now I'm all like :-*
-
Some of their smaller scale ranges are quite darling, and their prices are hard to beat.
-
I think they generally paint up well. Also they do just about everything.
-
Interesting. Could anyone tell me how they compare with Minifigs 15mm figures size-wise?
-
irregular have dramatically improved and paint up superbly
I have just bought some taiping and am delighted with them in 15mm
quality and service is excellent and they have extensive ranges not covered by anyone else
easy to make damning statements but I am now a firm convert and will expand my 19th century ranges with irregular
-
I've dealt with them once. Very helpful, quick and nice. Their web site could do with a make over tho.
-
Their site hasn't really changed in 15 years. Which is actually pretty impressive considering it's the internet.
I think my favorite thing about Irregular's stuff is the depth of the sculpting. It's chunky (perhaps even crude is the best word) but the recesses go so nicely deep that painting it is super easy.
-
I plan on picking up some of irregulars 6mm. And maybe even one or two of their 52mm stuff.
Not to sure about the 28mm stuff though.
-
I've found Irregular to be not unlike (though not quite as "plain" as) Peter Laing and Editions Brokaw. They tend to be true to their size - no "heroic" 28mm (ie 35mm) here - and so can look a little small beside other stuff of (allegeddly) similar size, and they have as much/little detail as is needed to broadly identify the figure, but you can always add more if you want. And very inexpensive, and sold by nice people.
Also, their animal sculpting skills aren't half bad - the assorted wildlife looks like what it is supposed to be and is reasonably in scale with its human owners/pets, which is more than some manufacturers can boast.
-
Horses for courses. Everything 've ever seen from them (and no I've never examined their 54mm stuff) has ranged from 'OK, it would do in a pinch' through 'Bleah.' to 'Christ that's awful!'
Naturally tastes differ and your mileage may vary. Personal observation not holy writ.

The Persians now feature on their web site, no pics as yet although Ian hopes to have some posted by next week
