Could you tell me from which range they are, please ? I have the WG Germans (plastic ones), but they are not in greatcoats... :(
-
Hi Craig
They are all more or less converted WG/ BA plastics.
(http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m146/CiaphasCain_album/Kurland%201945/119DBE4B-2F03-4407-8163-E17F56971177_zps17wonvpl.jpg) (http://s103.photobucket.com/user/CiaphasCain_album/media/Kurland%201945/119DBE4B-2F03-4407-8163-E17F56971177_zps17wonvpl.jpg.html)
The parts I am using are from the two plastic German sets (Late War & Blitzkrieg) and the new Winter Soviets.
And the odd WGF part..

How does that Rubicon SdKfz 251 builds? I have 3 on the pile lol
Of course now, after seeing your painting I'm really ashamed of what I had planned for mine...
-
That's come up really nice - colourful but gritty.
-
Fully ace!
-
Simply beautiful! As others said a really gritty and still vivid style and colours. May I ask how you paint your vehicles?
-
Thanks gentlemen!
@Mattias
I've got an airbrush but I can't be bothered with the mess unfortunately..
Therefore they are all hand painted using my trusty GW Tank Brush (about 10yrs old!)
Base coat with GW Tallarn Sand, green blotches with Lauren Forest, brown blotches with Vallejo Saddle Brown. Overall wash with GW Agrax Earthshade and very few highlights using the base colours again.
Moderate Weathering with GW Technical Paint Typhus Corrosion and Mig Pigments Dark Mud.
Matt varnish with Winsor & Newton Professional Matt Varnish spray (transforms all your figures into masterpieces!).
That's it, takes about 90mins incl drying time :-)
I haven't got the patience to put more effort in vehicles unfortunately but I am happy with the result and they are not showcase models..
Cheers

Very nice work - in a grimy kind of way!
-
@SP: Thank you! Much appreciated. I figured they were painted by hand and that was why I asked as I have no airbrush and really liked how your vehicles turned out. I think I'll have to try and copy it - copying being a form of flattery after all. :-)

Really fantastic work. I really like the gritty look of these, perfect for the Götterdämmerung "end of the Reich" feel of that phase of the war.
Great work.
