Last year at Salute I ended up playing the Jugula demo and easily caved; walking away with a couple of prerelease sets of Jugula, but never got around t0 actually putting the models together. With this year's show fast approaching, I thought it was about time I actually started them. Despite having two lots of the weapon packs, I still decided to go for the starting four options for each familia, just to make it easier to teach some friends how to play.

I'm glad these are all finished as it means I will not have to worry about dealing with those weird LBM sticky waterslide transfers. Do. Not. Like. They are really pretty and do make the final figure pop. But sticky waterslide? I just could not get them to sit properly on the shields and as they are sticky, you can't even shift them around a bit :/
I'm on the fence about expanding the familia at this scale though. I can't help but feel it would be better to start again at 28mm instead of adding more of the Gripping Beast ones as I'm just not that keen on the scale. Matakishi's Gladiatorial arena (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=44924.0) looks great in 28mm.

Great stuff, lovely brushwork. ;D
I personally prefer a larger scale for Galdiator games.(I do mine in 40MM) As there are limited numbers of figures in the arena at any one time.

Fantastic painting especially like the shields and skin tones. 8) 8)

Those are nice, I like the nets particularly, they're very effective.

They are really lovely figures. Congrats!
About the LBM transfers. You can move them around if you wet the shield with water before applying the transfer. It doesn't say so on the instructions but it works.

Oh, that's useful to know that about the transfers, thanks!

Lovely work, mate.
Gorgeous paintjobs.
:-* :-*
And don't worry about your gladioli waiting a year for colour.
Mine have been sitting around naked for far longer than that..... ::)

Great painting work, very nice all of them. I prefer 28mm models too.
