Just received the message that Incursion 2nd edition has arrived at Jim(the creator)
So the Game will be sended to backers in the next months..still a lot of work to do for Jim.
This Info could also be a sign for SOTR 2nd.....a lot of people are hoping for crossover gaming.
Also its importent to say that Incursion is one of the real good examples for a ks...
You all know the not so good ones....
Dont know whether Jim has spares but if you are interested you should contact Jim
It seems the game wouldnt see general release....

Really anxious for this one since I've played V1 in the past and I really wanted my own copy of the game and minis.

Costs- All the final costs are revealing themselves and it’s becoming clear that we will spend every penny that you all pledged in this campaign on design and production and may have to put a few grand in out of our personal pockets. Literally every penny will be spent. There will be no compensation for John and me and no profit for the Grindhouse. Furthermore, because it’s so tight, we’re only producing 1200 copies of everything to fulfill the pledge rewards (plus a few extra of a couple of the popular components). The good news is that your sets just got very valuable since there won’t be any out there at retail!

Too bad. Great that they fulfilled their obligation. Not exactly exemplary as KS go, however. Now I'll have to hunt around for an overpriced version on eBay.

Bummer, I'm in the US and I think Jim's engineered that to ship last.
As to a retail release, I'm not sure it's completely dead. There were comments somewhere from Jim (maybe on the Incursion forum) over the winter that I can't seem to find.
The message I remember is that Grindhouse could only afford to order enough units to cover the KS backers in the first print run, but that there are some sunk costs from the factory that would make a second print run cheaper.
He had some musings as to wheather that was another KS campaign or a negotiation with a publisher.
The take away for me was that Jim wasn't planning to call it quits after the KS campaign is fullfilled.

On the plus side, once the new boxes start arriving you should be able to pick up an older copy cheap (ish).

I'll have a first edition copy and likely most of the minis available when (if) my Buckets pledge arrives. It's been a long wait, but I'm glad the guys are finally at the shipping stage.

I believe John and Jim at Grindhouse still have the original metal minis from Incursion available ( and West Wind too, I think). So you can always grab a first addition and start collecting minis. Can be a bit pricey, but I imagine you'll have some people selling off their extra plastic minis soon as well. It is a shame that Grindhouse couldn't get a backer to launch it retail. Hopefully, something might come along. Anyway, can't wait for my box-o-stuff to get here!

Just saw your post and those plastic figures are really good looking ones. I wonder if they were made in the same factory that makes the Dust figures o_o

My package arrived the other day. I didn't even know it had shipped. Everything looks great overall. I've not had a chance to really look all the figures over yet, but the head on the KS exclusive German girlie is very obviously too small for her body. I'm not sure if this is also true of the metals. Disappointing but not worth grousing over beyond the above statement.
I'll have to decide what I'm doing with my 1st ed games and figures. With the Buckets 'o Blood arriving I essentially have three full copies of the game.

I don't believe will go to retail. The entire print run goes to KS backers and the posts I saw from Grindhouse made it look look like Rob doesn't have the money, time or stamina to see another print run through. Ebay will probably be your best bet.

It's a bit of a shame the game won't go to retail. That sad, the boxes don't look like they were ever intended to. There is no information about the game on the back of the core game or Snafu. That would have to change if you were to do another run for retail, or at least include a paper insert in the shrink wrap on the bottom of the box to explain the game and contents.

I figured the whole point of doing a plastic box set and going to kickstarter was to have boxed game for stores to sell to distribution. Weird.
Oh well.
Indie has their ways I suppose.

Rob said that at one point he put a lot of time and research into retail, but his comment (I can't remember if it was through the kickstarter or the GH forum) was that the online retailers wanted such a deep discount Under RRP to carry the game that it wasn't worth it for what to him is a side job. I remember that he also wrote about selling or leasing the game to a publisher but that fell through as well.
I think it was always going to be a struggle no matter how they proceeded being a small company trying to carve out a niche audience with in a niche hobby.
On the flip side, if Panda keeps the molds in good shape, a future print run wouldn't need as much in the way of resources as the first. I can't remember, but there was another game (Fireteam Zero?) that did a kickstarter just for a second run of a game.

Woo Hoo! Mine was delivered here in Colorado USA today. I had a quick look through and it looks like everything was there including an extra Ack Pack and Blitzhund. One thing I noticed is that the extra game board in the SNAFU box is paper versus cardboard, but other than that, everything looks as good as the original.

I got mine too... but I'm at a point where I'm wondering if I can afford to keep it. Job troubles... I feel like a poor college student and I'll have to dump some of my big box games.
But if it plays well and is better than say Rivet Wars (Tried, so-so for me) or Space Hulk... I might keep Incursion.
But yeah, concur that 2nd Edition is only for Kickstarter. Sad to see but understandable.
