In the new issue of the french VaeVictis Thématique Armées Miniatures, I wrote a variant of the LotR/LotOW/LotHS system about the Beast of the Gevaudan.
One player controls the beast (or is the beast depending on your version) whilst the other player(s) is(are) the hunters ( Dragons, Noblemen, Civilians).

Sounds very interesting. The Gévaudan story is one of my favorite settings and I've read a lot about it. Too bad my French is almost lacking. Any chance to get an English summary of the things you've altered/adopted?

I can recommend watching the Brotherhood of the Wolf to get you in the mood.

Great idea, I bet that makes for a really atmospheric game.
I second the watching of Brotherhood of the Wolf too, excellent film. Just remember, the Iroquois knows kung fu because he's Hawaiian. After that realisation, everything else will make perfect sense.

I think it was that the Iriquois knew savate because the Frenchman taught him. Who probably got it from French sailors that had been to China. However, the Frenchman had a horrible time learning to surf.
Great looking set up as always Olivier.

Another reason and in my opinion the best reason for watching this film is Monica Bellucci ;D :P :-*

I've been wanting them, but its not my period(s) and there is a long list of other minis to get first.

That sounds like an interesting idea. I supposed some of my Black Scorpion pirates could be abused for such a setting... now if only my French ne were pas mal. ;)
I didn't know Laughing Monks miniatures before. Some cool stuff. I love Bruce the Zombie Killer aka Ash from Army of Darkness.

You can easily find them via fighting15's in the uk, where I got mine. Lovely figures I say. I just wait my son to paint some for me.

That is very cool. Envy. Heck, I'd be even happy already if my father wanted me to do so. :)
