Newly released in 28mm scale are my first two packs of East German National Volks Armee figures.
Consisting of two packs, with four figures in each, they represent the first half of this range, with command and support packs coming later.
Further down the line 28mm scale NATO opposition will also be commissioned.
A new 28mm scale Online Store has been created to showcase this new range and the old online store has been relabeled 20mm scale Online Store to avoid scale confusion.
A link to the new packs can be found below...

In the meantime please enjoy the photo's below.
Pack 2: 2 riflemen, an NCO & a PKM gunner.

Pack 3: 3 riflemen and a RPK gunner

Going forward pack one will be the command pack and pack 4 the support pack.
All figures in this new range are 28mm in scale and cast out of white metal. I will happily answer any questions people have.
Regards,
Westy38.

These look great :)
-
Nice! :D
-
Damn it! Another range of figures I need in my life. >:(
They look great and can not wait to order some.
-
Looking good. Given each squad will require an RPG, will there be a pack incorporating one or a separate pack of three perhaps? Or will I have to buy multiple support packs? I hate having to buy multiple packs with unnecessary extras. Twould be nice to have squad packs.
-
Don't worry. The RPG-7 gunner will be going into the support pack (pack 4). This and pack 1, the platoon command pack, will be getting sculpted soon.

Ok thank you
I'm Very happy and exciting.

Thanks for the reply but how many RPGs will there be in the support pack? Expensive if one has to buy three of them just to complete one platoon and presumably at least one of the figures is going to be a bloke with an SVD. Most gamers will want to buy complete squads or platoons so quaint pack organisation is somewhat annoying. Maybe consider doing squad packs or platoon deals?
-
Congratulations on these figures, they look very well done. :)

I'm not up on the NVA at all, but wouldn't back-slung RPG tubes do the job, or was there a 'rocket pack' thingy on the grenadier's back?
I have to admit I always prefer proper 'squads' and teams, to having to mix and match packs, which to me was one royal pain with the old Mongrel range. No matter what you always ended up with surplus figures, or not enough of something.
::)

This page has some useful information on NVA motor rifle squads as well as a couple of interesting East German training films.

RPG gunner only had a pistol and was supposed to carry 2 additional rounds. Good thought though as I have a number of spare RPGs floating around.

Those minis are fantastic looking! Who is the sculptor? They look a lot like Empress, which is by no means a bad thing!

I think it's the same: Tony Boustead ?
-
Very nice!!! A bit "early" for me but I may find a use ;)

I do too, he does have a style of his own to my eyes (as obviously does every sculptor)... I would be shocked if they weren't his. :)
-
Yep. It's Tony.

I saw, I ordered, and please forgive me, I did a review :D

Cheers that's very handy. I've been tossing up between the HLBS BMP and the SJ one and I think you've provided the final tipping point.

I have my minis at home !
Very nice job.
I can't wait to see the other packs.
We need some other infantry models for variety.
Anybody here have suggestions to find the good colors for the strichtarn camo ?
Sometime it is showed as greenish Sometime brownish.
Any suggestions ?
-
Strichtarn >:(
It seems there are a couple of versions, early pattern appears to be more tan in colour, the later version looks more greenish. The raindrops can be brown, or dark green, and once you start splatting them over your base colour, it changes!!!
I will stick a couple of pics up later of the one figure I managed to get finished, after a "little" bit of work, and an awful lot of very sweary words lol
