Hi guys

The first half of a commission for Eureka's 28mm Revolutionary wars French is completed, lovely characterful figures, they are a treat to paint, personally these figures suit me very well, as I always like to paint "on Campaign" rather than "on parade" they can be obtained from Eureka Australia or Eureka US or fighting 15s in Europe, all comments welcome.

This Eureka range was one that had had the "Wow" factor for a few years now and unlike you Gunnar, I've never had the pleasure of someone asking me to paint some units up for them.

I reckon, that for that real lived in campaign look, the Eureka Revolutionary Wars range and the upcoming Perry Peninsular range will be two that are certainly worth the investment.

Darrell.

Hi guys

A French light infantry Regt finished on commission, lovely AB Figures, my preferred choice of 15/18mm Napoleonics, the yellow is brighter than in person, my camera does that, these can be obtained from Eureka Australia or US or Fighting 15s in the EU, all comments welcome.

These look very nice, and I don't think the yellow looks too bright at all. I hope you don't mind me asking, but is it a GW shade (I seem to be on a perpetual quest to find a yellow I am happy with)?
Title: Re: Gunners Napoleonic thread, updated 18/06
Post by: Gunner Dunbar on June 18, 2015, 10:02:06 AM
Hi Plutarch

Yes it is GW, as my GW colours get used up or dry out I am replacing them with Vallejo, but their yellow is pretty good, I find if you have a hard time with getting good coverage try adding just a tiny bit of whit, it makes the colour less opaque, good if you want to do yellow piping etc.

Hi guys

Finished a regiment of AB 15mm Dragoons (28th) and the 2nd Chasseurs, absolutely lovely figures that can be purchased from the usual places, Eureka Australia, Eureka USA and Fighting 15s in Europe, pretty happy with how they have come out, I think I have a problem with my camera, or it maybe the lighting, the tan horses look very yellow, this is not the case in person, all comments welcome.

Next up for the Anthony Barton commission are the Belgian Carabiniers and line infantry, all lovely minis and a pleasure to paint, love the trumpeter figure, available from Eureka Miniatures in Australia and USA and fighting 15s in Europe, all comments welcome.

Hi guys

An early Napoleonic Saxon commission finished, these are 18mm Eureka Miniatures figures, and rather nice to, not sure of the sculptor, but they are not to far off ABs quality, fun to paint, the casualties are AB, maybe from their Prussian range, flags are downloadable from Napflags, that I have touched up with paint, sorry about the pics, there's a bit of glare today, and my hands were shaking a little causing blurriness, all comments welcome.

Hi guys

Finished this lot of Scots Greys for my mate Scott, I think they are all Perry's, the group includes the vignette of sergeant Ewart capturing the colours of the 45th at Waterloo, its a nice little vignette, I think they came together nicely, all comments welcome.

Hi Guys

I have decided that next year I will work on my photography skills, maybe make a light box and some scenery, so there should be an improvement on my usual pictures, but for now my usual crappy method once again, anyway here is Regts 4 and 5 finished on commission, these go with the last 2 Wurttemberg posts, 1st Regt http://gunnerswargamming.blogspot.com.au/2015/08/15mm-wurttemberg-commission.html (http://gunnerswargamming.blogspot.com.au/2015/08/15mm-wurttemberg-commission.html) and foot Artillery and 2nd and 3rd Regts http://gunnerswargamming.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/2nd-and-3rd-wurttemberg-infantry-regts.html (http://gunnerswargamming.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/2nd-and-3rd-wurttemberg-infantry-regts.html) all comments welcome.

A bit of a mixed bag here today, all 15mm, firstly the 28th Orange-Nassau Regt, some French foot artillery, the 2nd French Dragoons and some French command, Ney and others, all but the Dragoons are ABs, not sure who make the Dragoons, they are OK, but not a patch on ABs.

Hi guys

Firstly I must apologize for the picture quality, it is early morning and I haven't had my coffee yet, hands are a little shaky, so some pics are blurry, and the light isn't the best.
This is 70% of a combined Grand Duchy of Warsaw and Wurttemberg army finished, as seen in the first pic we have the Polish 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Infantry Regt's, then horse and foot artillery, then the 2nd Uhlans, 1st Chassuers, Wurttemberg 1st Chevau-legers, and Polish 3rd Uhlans, I have still to paint 1st and 2nd Wurttemberg light Infantry Regt's and horse/foot Artillery, all comments welcome.

Gunner - Can I ask who makes these?  Are the AB - if so are they converted?  Its just that I haven't seen Frenceh Artillery in Bardin tunics with fringed epaulettes in the AB / Fighting 15s catalogue yet.

Yep!  They are Young Guard artillery alright....and those are the ones I want - but they are not the ones at the link as the have different epaulettes.......

However, I've now found them on AB: http://abfigures.com/artillery/1358-young-guard-artillery-firing.html

Now I just need them to be shipped across to the UK.

Hi guys

Another Wurttemberg commission finished, I got to paint a unit I have never painted before the Konig Chasseur Regt, green with pink facings, which was fun, other units are Herzog Louis Chesseurs, 1st and 2nd Chevau-Legers, and the light infantry, all comments welcome.

Hi guys

Half way through a large Napoleonic commission, covering several units and nations, so will post this in several parts over the next week, first part is 95th Rifles, all lovely Perry figures, love this unit, one of my favourites, doing my own in 15mm at the moment for 15mm Sharp practice, all comments welcome.

Hi guys

Next for the largish commission was some confederation of the Rhine Saxe Gotha (White crossbelts) and Saxe Meiningen (black cross belts) I gave the Meiningens a slightly darker blue to set them apart a little more, nice minis, although for some reason the faces of some had been squished, flattening the nose right out, not sure if this was a de molding issue or transportation issue, might use some early Saxons one day to do these in 15mm for myself.

Next up for the largish Napoleonic commission are the 28mm Spanish Ordenes Militares Regiment, half Grenadiers and half Fusiliers, not sure who makes these, but they look like Paul Hicks sculpts (except the Grenadier officer, drummer and Fusilier Sergeant, not sure where they are from)

Hi guys

I have painted at least 5 largish 15mm Saxon army commissions, and have just finished the largest one so far, I wont concentrate on post pics of the infantry as I have post many pics of these types before, just an overall pic to show size of the army, but there are some Cavalry units I haven't painted before, so will show more pics of those
Prinz Clemens Uhlans - green and red
Saxon Zastrow Cuirassiers - yellow with black cuirass
Saxon gaurde du corps - yellow and blue
Saxon Hussars - blue and white
Saxom Leib Grenadiers - red and yellow infantry
as well as my first 15mm ACW in the form of AB generals sets
All comments welcome

Gunner,

Love those 15mm Saxons you are painting for a commission.  Quite a talent to paint that well in such numbers.

Can I ask if you are doing any Saxon artillery in 15mm for this commission, in particular horse artillery.  I think that AB only do Saxon Foot artillery and hence I'd be interested to know how you did the Saxon Horse artillery, whether you converted then and if so what base figures you used.

Hi Paddy
I will be doing artillery for this customer at a later date along with a Prussian army, haven't thought about what we are doing or how we will do it yet.

Thanks Gunner.  I'll wait for you to tackle the problem ahead of me and then swipe all your good ideas then.....

I see you went for the Prinz Clemens Uhlans using the AB Austrian Lancer in red and green rather than with a Polish lancer in  light blue and black.  They look very good.

Painted these for a friend, 28mm Saxon Guard Grenadiers and Artillery, not sure who makes them, but pretty sure they are Paul Hicks sculpts, nice figures

Westfalia Miniatures does them, and they are indeed Paul Hicks sculpts :

Top-notch figures as you say : I have quite a few of these, with more on their way to me as I type this.

It really depends, the Saxons were 2 days the larger 15mm armies 2 - 3 weeks.

Hi guys

A large commission of mixed 15mm Napoleonics finished, to large to post all the pics in one post, so I will spread it over at least 3 posts, all AB (Prussians, Austrian Cavalry), CGM (Nassau) or Xan (the rest) miniatures, AB are of course excellent, this is the first time I have paint Xan miniatures, they are more true 15mm so smaller than AB, you could mix them in the same army, but not the same unit, all round they are fairly nice, not quite as good as AB, but you will not be disappointed in them, CGM are similar in size and detail to Xan, again not as good as AB (the bench mark) and their poses/anatomy are probably the lest nice of the 3.
First up a couple of pics of the whole commission, and closer pics of the Brit and Prussians, the units we have are
92nd Gordon Highlanders (Xan)
58th Rutlandshire Regiment Xan)
53rd Shropshire Regiment (Xan)
Prussian 23rd Musketeer Regiment "Winning"(AB)

Hi Jambo, yeah they are alright, I would use them in a personal army but would pick AB first.

Some pics of 15mm AB French Hussards de la Mort finished on commission, I had to change the shabraque to a woollen one, uniform was very similar to Prussian deaths head hussars, the skull and crossbones on the sleeves should be a little smaller, but there is a limit to my talent, all comments welcome.

Hi guys

Have started a commission to make a 15mm Bavarian army, it is a collector piece rather than gaming army, so will contain units that historically wouldn't have been fielded together, e.g. Dragoons and Chevaux Legers, to get them as accurate and as diverse as possible I am doing a fair amount of converting, and thought I would share some pics of the WIP conversions, some of these are
1) making a Grenadier battalion with head swaps (not pictured)
2) converting late war French skirmishers to Bavarians (for diversity)
3) adding sashes to the Chevaux Legers to make them into Dragoons
4) Making a command stand from various figures
I pinched some ideas off Paul Alba's incredible Bavarians, hope they turn out half as good as his.

Merry Christmas Guys

Pics of my finished 15mm Bavarian commission, I'm very happy to have done these, I had planned on making these for myself, but would never have had the time to get around to it, so was chuffed when my friend wanted just this army, firstly the sun is very hot and bright here in eastern Australia today, so the pictures aren't the best, the figures look much better in the hand, the figures are AB, theres a fare few conversions, the Grenadier battalion are all head swaps, the skirmishers are mostly French converted to Bavarians for variety, the command is mostly converted from Austrians and the Limber is converted Austrian, flags are from fighting 15s, I'm pretty happy with how these turned out, I will get the customer to take pictures of them ones they are based, all comments welcome.

However, can you explain the Sappers - is this a figure I don't know about or heavily converted.  I can't work out how you did these.  They are gorgeous!

The Grenadier sapper is just a stock French chasseurs of the guard figure, the line sappers are from the company that used to be fattassin/warmodelling figures, not sure what they are called now, I think they are made in Spain now.

Thanks Gunner.

Your painting has hidden the use of models from different manufactures like the  line sapper from Fattassin/warmodelling.....always the sign of a good paint job!  Plus you've done a good job on those head swaps for the Greandiers.

Hi guys

Some Voltigeurs (Front Rank) and Rifles (Brigade games) finished on commission (along with some others I will show in a separate post) the 2 sculpts are at opposite ends of the chunky scale, Front rank being very chunky, and Brigade games quite skinny, although both sets are nicely sculpted and worthy of praise, I lean towards the skinnier Paul Hicks Rifle sculpts, all comments welcome.

Hi guys

I reason I take pics of my commissions/projects is to find faults/omissions, I have noticed I missed the canteen and powder flask straps on these guys, so will finish them shortly, but apart from that, this commission is finished, these are all the 95th rifles collection by Brigade Games including Sharpe and friends, they are all amazing sculpts, I thought they were a little thinned legged when next to Perry 95th, but when done on their own I think they are excellent, I really love that Harper figure.
All comments welcome.

Hi guys

Painted these Saxon light cav for a friend, not sure what the original figures were, maybe early French chasseurs? they had their plumes on the left side of the shako which I relocated to the front, the uniform cut and saddlery are not correct, but close enough for my friend, all comments welcome.

Hi guys

Some French Legere or light infantry finished on commission, all 15mm ABs, its stormy here today and the light is horrible, I hate using my flash, it makes the figures/colours look weird, its hard to see them without the flash, but the look more natural with out it, anyway some pics with and without flash, all comments welcome.

Your output is phenomenal!  How many figures do you paint a day on average?  How many hours do you spend doing it?  Any tips on how to paint faster?

Tips, hmm, I production line paint, one colour at a time, I use the long paint sticks with the figures close together so I am going from one to the next very fast, I paint 40hrs a week generally, its a full time job, how many I get done depends on subject and scale, hard to tell really, a lot though.

Hi guys

I don't know how many 10s of thousands of 15mm Napoleonic figures I have painted, its a lot, but the journey had to start somewhere, here are some pics of my first 15mm Napoleonic figures, painted 23 years ago, these are French, the white uniforms represent those Regts that were issues white for a short time when the French ran out of blue dye due to the British blockades.

I was going to say how badly these guys are painted, but having blown up the pics they're not to bad, only need a wash and some highlights to be presentable.

I managed to get 12 x 12 man Battalions, some arty, and some allies finished the first time, I will be doubling these to 24 man bats, repainting to all dark French blue, and re basing, aiming for a corps size force for 1809-10 Peninsular War.

When I bought these guys there was no online, they were bought from my LHS, so I ended up with a mix of figures, most of these figs are Old glory for the command and centre companies, which I don't mind, (if I was starting from scratch I would use ABs) and for the flankers some Essex which I loath and will replace ( I might use their heads for some head swaps) Lancaster miniatures, which fit in well with OG but are limited in pose, so I will be converting them a little to expand their usefulness, and some Minifigs, which I don't mind, but have a very different style to everyone else, so I might leave them out, or might try and keep to their own bat.

I also have a Peninsular Brit army (ABs) and plan on doing an 1815 Prussian army with mostly ABs and some Old Glory for the Landwher.

I must have 200 of those plastic containers filled with both painted and unpainted troops!  They are very useful for 15 mm figures - excepting, sometimes, cavalry.  Seems a shame to dispense with already painted figures.  Can't you just judiciously mix them in with the existing and the new figures?  Might save a fair amount of time and expense.

Hi guys

Despite my posting pics of infantry in my French revamp post, I'm starting off with a Cav unit, my aim is to try and use up any figs in my stash before buying new figs (only if I have to) so I'm converting the Westphalian light horse from OG Bavarian Chevaulegers.

The helmet was wrong, so I have head swapped with some spare OG Carabinier heads, I have yet to change some details on the helmets, I have removed all the swords and drilled hands for lances, and given them wool shabraques.

Yet to do

Helmet details
add a sword and scabbard
shape the lance and add pennants

Question : does anyone know if the Westphalian light horse had carbines? I cant see any in reference pics.

Some 15mm Napoleonic Prussians finished on commission, a mix of AB for grenadiers, and Old glory Landwehr, 2 of my favourite 15mm Napoleonic manufacturers, both make lovely figures, AB are the cream of the crop, but Old Glory have a certain charm.

Hi guys

Some 28mm Calpe Prussians, and a small group of Perry French Voltiguers finished on commission, first time I have painted Calpe Prussians, actually the first 28mm Prussians I have painted, done plenty of 15mm though, and I have to say I really like them, although the sculpting is better on the line infantry and on the arty and Jagers, either a different sculptor or the sculptor improved over the range, regardless an nice range of figures, that I really enjoyed painting, the Perry figs are their usual very nice standard.

Hi guys

I had a surplus Victrix plastic Napoleonic Austrian box in my stash, so thought I would create a Napoleonic Imagi-nation army for Sharp Practice, (these aren't finished yet, I need to give them more of a campaign look) I'm thinking Saxe-Carlsburg, we all know that this famous state participated in nearly every campaign of the Napoleonic wars, famously in Spain, Russia on the French side, and on the British side at Waterloo, again we all know they were dressed in lighter blue coats than Bavarians, buff yellow breaches, white cross belts, and national colours cockades/drum loops light blue and yellow.
I will also be doing 1 or more cavalry groups, possibly Hussars and Cuirassiers, I have Perry's plastics for both, the Cuirassiers would have bicorns.

There is a German movie, Alt-Heidelberg, about the romance between the fictitious prince of Sachsen-Karlsburg (slightly different spelling) and a young lady from Heidelberg.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt_Heidelberg_(1959)
The movie poster shows a coat of arms but it more likely the one of the Burschenschaft, in which the prince is a member.

Still, it might give you am idea.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Hi guys

I have a pretty large stash, enough to do projects in most eras/genres in at least 3 scales, in Napoleonics I have beautiful 18mm ABs and just as nice 28mm Perry's, but I keep getting drawn back to 1/72 plastics, not because the available figures are great, though some are, but because of the potential to make them look really nice, and their ease of conversion and cost. My usual 1/72 projects are WWII based, but I thought I would starts some 1/72 Nap projects, I'm a modeller not a gamer, so small skirmish type forces are perfect for this and will be organised around Sharpe practice forces, I'm starting with Wurttemberg, I have painted several armies for customers, but never one for myself and I had these infantry in my stash already, I've ordered artillery and cavalry to round out this force, after Wurts I will do Bavaria. Might try and improve the swords, can you see anywhere else I need to do work on?

Hi guys

Doing some work on the Wurttemberg army commanders base, used an Italeri ACW cav figure as the base of the commanders conversion, still need to do some work on the gun.

Not sure how I will base the infantry, I was going to go with my usual single fig on a round base, but I considering either 4 figs on 25mm square, or 2 figs on a 20mm square, received the Artillery and Cavalry boxes in the mail the other day, so will be doing those soon.

Hi guys

1/72 Wurttemberg army, minus the arty and cav ready for undercoating, its raining heavy here today in sunny QLD, so might wait till tomorrow, and start on the arty, decided I will base these 2 to a base on 2cm square bases, minor commanders 3 to a base on 4cm squares, and army commander on the round base, all comments welcome.

Hi guys

Doing a 15mm Crimean war project for a friend, he needed some Russian Naval guns so printed these out (not strictly Russian, but close enough) with some gabions, they turned out pretty good for 15mm, a few little printing errors here and there, but nothing I can't fix with green stuff.

Hi guys

Done some more work on my teddy bear terrain tiles, it will be a general purpose board for all eras and genres, designed to fit 15mm-28mm, have shaved the dirt roads out with clippers, reduced the tyre ruts down with a long necked bbq lighter, I'll glue sand into the tyre ruts and paint brown, the long brown/white stripe on the right will be a river, I plan on filling it with clear resin after detailing the river bed, and will be shaping the grass in differant areas, and colouring it various greens/yellows/browns, I need to make more tiles with a single end to end road, have done enough t/y/x intersection, and will do more farming and plain fields, as well as some scatter hills and other terrain, plan on train tracks, houses to suit Russian, Normandy and some fantasy/Medieval buildings and a bridge accross the river as well as some shallow river crossings.

Hi guys

Have done some more work on my terrain tiles, (have laid it out without really trying to make a coherent map, just for these pics) painted the road dark brown, and gave them a very light dry brush, this makes them look muddy, not sure if I want this terrain to be lush and muddy, or dry and dusty if I choose dry and dusty I will need to add more yellow to the grass and heavily dry brush the roads, as this is a generic terrain for all genres (but I am working on my WWII Russian projects currently) should I keep it lush or go dry? I've also got a piece of sandy coloured fur coming, enough for another 6 tiles, which will need a heavy green painting to mix in with this terrain, with those 6 tiles I'll do 3 with single end to end roads, and 3 plain fields/crop fields.

My next job is to seal the river sections with masking tape, then cover with grit and paint, I will be filling these with clear resin, so the masking tape will stop the resin leaking out between the cork and foam.

I have seen a lot of FB posts with painters showing their completed miniatures of 2022, so I start wondering how many miniatures I painted in 2022, here is 1 picture from each batch of figures completed in 2022 that I could find, most are commissions, the unpainted batch of vehicles isn’t painted, but was built in 22, and will be painted over my 3 weeks holidays, there are 41 pics all up on my blog, a mix of scale, genres and eras.

Hi guys

Some may have noticed I do the occasional large army conversion project for myself, for the fist time I have been commissioned to convert/detail an army without painting it, the customer likes the painting part themselves, the first 3 pictures below are of my own army that the customer has asked me to emulate in style, the other pictures are of my work so far head swaps, some pose changes, adding in the support wire for the plumes, the project is 350ish figures, this first part is 119 figs covering the light infantry a jagers, the remainder will be line infantry, kind of bummed I won’t be painting them, but such is life.

Looks good! Yet, you have a 3D printer, so why didn't you just print out some heads and bits using something like the Piano Wargames files....just rescaled for what you want? Your old school like me in approaching things but I am working hard to adjust my thinking to what I can make via my printer rather than scratchbuilding, as time is limited. Plus, the 3D models do turn out better. :)

Just seen the prodigious output and lovely terrain tiles on the previous page (I can recall many of your AB commissions from many years ago and how envious I felt seeing what a super job you did on them).

On the tiles, don't forget (many terrain makers do) that river banks attract plant life - trees and bushes along both banks can "make" a river look more realistic.

I got a bit bored with post commission after commission, usually of the same subject, I rarely post commission pics anymore, but thought people would like them, should I post these more? I paint about 10000 miniatures a year

 Hi guys

A customer of mine sent me some pics of the painting he has done on some 1/72 figures that I had converted for him, this is a small batch of a much larger group of figures I did, Württemberg light infantry, I’m pretty impressed with his paint job, they turned out nice, so I asked if I could share, he gave me the nod.

Hi guys
Haven’t done any work on my personal Napoleonic projects for a long time (as opposed to commission work) I have been looking at the silver bayonet, Napoleonic gothic horror, looks interesting, and I’m looking forward to doing some character conversions, which I’ll add in with historical figures, so dusting off some old projects, starting of with some converted plastic Portuguese Cacadores that have been in the stash unpainted for 8 years.

 Hi guys

Working on some Portuguese and British Characters for the Silver Bayonet, and have done some paint work on the Portuguese Cacadores, still a bit of work to do to them, they can be used in either TSB or Sharpes practice.

Post by: Gunner Dunbar on November 21, 2023, 06:45:38 AM
 Hi guys

Nearly finished these Cacadores, some more work on details, then finish the bases, I’ll start the Brunswick Oels jagers at the back next. These guys were fun to do, thinking of doing another group in the earlier uniform with the Belgic shako, but I have a unit of Portuguese line conversions I need to finish first.

Hi guys

I love seeing converted figures at 3 stages, pre undercoated in all their green stuff glory, undercoated, which pulls the figures together and shows the detail ready to paint, and of course finished, here are some pics of my Oels jager sharpshooter undercoated ready for the paint brush, this will be the start of a Brunswick Sharp practice force.

 Hi guys

Have finished the Portuguese Cacadores, and have made good progress on these Brunswick Oels jagers, a bit more painting the weathering and finishing the bases, all converted from Perry’s and Victrix plastic.

Like the Brunswick Oels - not sure about the officer figure's tunic though (not your problem, it's an error in the sculpting) as the sharpshooter officers never had braiding on their tunics until 1815.

It’s my error as it’s my sculpting, I converted these about 10 years ago and used the Capitan miniatures figures as my guide.

Ah, ok.  The original 1809 "scharfschutzen" officers wore Prussian fusilier uniform with bell-top shakos, and no frogging on the tunic.  In fairness, that may have changed when they moved over to British uniforms following their brief holiday on the Isle of Wight in 1810, but a lot of that is down to broad assumptions made by British historians - for example, they have all three detached companies in that uniform and carrying Baker rifles, whereas it was only the scharfschutzen company in both cases (the other two were armed with muskets and wore the same uniform as the rest of the battalion).

Anyway, nice figures.

Thanks for the info, it’s not a total loss, he is not integral to this sharp practice sub unit, I have some Perry Brunswick figures coming to flesh out the force, with some foot command figures, he may end up relegated to “the Silver Bayonet” where a little artistic flare is fine/encouraged.

 Hi guys

I finished the Brunswick Oels Jagers sharpshooters, I need to add some writing and the horse emblem on the pack, I think there maybe a decal out there, I’ll look into that.

I recently finished a large 15mm 1805 Russian commission, which I enjoyed, and it inspired me to do my own skirmish sized force in 28mm, although 28mm Napoleonics are only a very small percentage of my business, maybe 5-7%, I have painted maybe 4000-5000 over the last 8 years, and I can not recollect ever painting an Elite miniatures Napoleonic figure, I had seen them here and there online, and wasn’t sure if I liked their style, however as they are a local Australian producer, I decided to give them a go for this project, and the package arrived today.

Well, I must say I’m surprised at how good they look in the hand, I was expecting I would give them head swaps to make them less cartoony, but I actually like them, and I will have no hesitation on buying more, each 4 man pack comes with 2 poses, so I am swapping heads to increase pose variety. Their size is also pretty good, they fit right in with Perry’s, I’m well pleased with this purchase and looking forward to painting them, they are ready for some detail on the bases. I’ve got about 60-70 figs to do, I’m starting with 2 units of jagers.

WIP Elite miniatures 1805 Russian Jagers, they have all had headswaps/angles changed to add some variety, some small details need finishing and bases decorated.

 Hi guys

These Elite miniatures 1805 Russian grenadiers are almost finished, a few details to paint and decorate the bases, did some head swapping to try and get some variety in the poses, enjoying this project, musketeers up next.

Nice paint job  :-* I have often mused on an early Russian Napoleonic force to put against the Perry Swedes for the Russo-Swedish War of 1808 - 1809. I didn’t know Elite Miniatures did an early range. The figures seem a bit old school but have a lot of character. What do you think of the Casting Room Miniatures range?

I’m not to familiar with casting room, their ranges look pretty extensive, they look fairly parade ground.  Elite have Swedes, but a little limited, only line infantry and cav, the good thing about Elite is they are located here in Australia, so cheap postage, and they are quite cheaply priced, very good value for money.
