Title: Crann Tara Miniatures
Post by: TheMarquis on April 15, 2015, 09:30:33 AM
I thought I should do a very quick post for those not aware of the wonderful Crann Tara Jacobite Rebellion range (Crann Tara is also stocking the Minden Miniatures War of Austrian Succession range also sculpted, I think, by Richard Ansell). In recent months the range has expanded to include infantry, cavalry and personalities all c.1745.

you can find pictures of the Minden range here: http://mindenminiatures.blogspot.co.uk/

The figures themselves are stuffed with detail and character yet very easy to paint. The detail is cut very deeply into the figures and of the sixty or more CT/Minden figures I own not a single one required any serious cleaning before painting. I also received very quick and pleasant service from the nice gentleman who owns CT.

Afraid I can't comment on historical accuracy as I'm not too concerned about that (heresy I know!), but the figures have lots of character and a real air of 18th century dash about them. I have included a picture (hope it comes out, never attached one here before!) of my Crann Tara Irish regiment to give you an idea of what the figures are like painted (to see some better examples go to the CT facebook page).
