Hi, I have dusted off my Flodden Scots army and intend to add a few pieces. I am looking for dismounted figures in plate with what almost looks like a cloth “skirt” like the command figures shown in the color plates of the Osprey Flodden book. I have checked all of the mfgs that I know to check and cannot find any. Before I break out the greenstuff and create my own, does anyone have a suggestion? By the way, what is this called, is it a jupon, 1/2 hauberk or something else? It may cover the upper body too, but just be below the armor on the topside.
This topic may belong in Renaissance, but the figures seem more medieval to me, so I posted it here.
Thanks – Allen

Hi Allen
I can't speak for 15mm but there's nothing in 28mm so I sculpt my own, the garment is a skirt if it's just from the belt or if appears more like a skirted coat with short sleeves it's a base coat, sometimes known as a Waffenrock but certainly in England and Scotland it was simply a coat or base coat.
Hope that helps

Thanks Stuart, looks like I will be doing a little sculpting myself!

From memory, I think the only 15s wearing anything like that were maybe some Essex French mounted Gendarmes, but I may even have imagined that.
I just took the easy (i.e. lazy) route and used knights in ordinary late 15th century armour..... lol
