Title: Portuguese 1st Lippe Regiment
Post by: Plutarch64 on April 29, 2015, 08:07:42 AM
The first regiment of a new project I have started (as well as my first new topic on LAF). These are 28mm Front Rank and are the two battalions of the Portuguese 1st Lippe regiment:

These guys are excellent.   Will your 28mm project be all Portuguese ?   Or a mixed force ?

Indeed they look great.
May have to re-do my Portuguese using FR now.

I noticed on your blog your comment regarding the small battalion sizes.  My decision given the small sizes given to each regiment was to assume that each regiment in fact fought as one battalion rather than two.  However I think your solution is in fact more elegant.  *sigh* looks like more painting for the list  :(

Thanks for the comments.

I am planning on this being a complete army in its own right Robert, with around twenty battalions and three regiments of cavalry, but will no doubt be spreading it across a few British brigades for gaming purposes as well.

I like Front Rank even though they are very large (especially the pre-reinforcement pack figures), but they are still my default figure of choice. It' s funny Gustav as I agonised over whether to just do them in one battalion combined regiments as you have done and am still not 100% sure I went the right way, but I suppose I can always remove a few figures to combine and shrink them down on the table if needs be. I am just hoping that my motivation doesn't waver before I manage to complete them.
