stealing borrowing inspiration from several others here, i finally got around to making a version of the rope bridge. i made mine 8" so anyone crossing would not be able to make it across in a single move. the only thing i'd change is to use a lighter wash so it's not quite so dark. i also stacked and glued some craft foam blocks for some elevation.
the approach

the next steps are to get to work on some cliffs.

A good plan.
Excellent execution.
Ought to be a good addition to any 'high-adventure'.
Thanks,

That is fantastic! The texture on the foam blocks will take any weathering paint effects well.
Love the roped slats! (Now that is something I really wouldn't have the patience to do!) :-*
Makes me dizzy though thinking of crossing such a perilous item with no hand rails! (The Peril would be to Perilous!) :o

Great looking bridge.

MalcyB - I didn't do the rope slats - it is originally a picket fence from michael's craft store; i just cut to length and clipped the pointy ends, then wrapped the ends around a couple of nails in a wood block. there's a lot more fencing left so i'm probably going to do some more.

Well thought out that Man! ;)
That would not have crossed my mind at all!
