Hi folks,
took me some time to find the right colour sheme for the Olympus ladies, but now I think I've found it :-))
So in the next weeks I'll work on the Amazon army and will try to post a picture every now and then.
I hope you enjoy the pics and please feel free to comment.
Thanks Thomas

Hello Thomas,
I like the colour shame, but it seems a bit dark to me. Maybe the reason is the camera.
I look forward to see the miniature in real.
-
Lovely painting on your minis! :)
They are nicely sculpted. I have a small force of Basti, I need to get to work on them. :)
-
The painting looks great. 8)

Great color scheme choice, and excellent paint work.
Nice minis to :)
-
Thomas, another army coming out.
Lovelly painting. :-* :-*
-
These are great. I'm looking forward to finally getting my Trojans sorted, it's been a long time since I received them but these are nice inspiration. The colour does seem a bit more washed out than might be intended, but it also seems to capture a nice sort of swords and sandals vibe.

This week I managed to finish my first Amazon unit, the peltasts.
Next are the archers, but due to nice and warm "beer garden wheather" they might some more to finish I think :-D
cheers Thomas

Oh that's fantastic! Nice to see Wargods get some love (I don't play/collect it (yet) but I like the sight of it). Great photo-staging, too. Thank you for sharing!

Come to Sweden. It's so windy the beer will blow out of your seidel. Three months of this weather and counting :(
-
They look good, though I'm unsure about the armor designs of the minis.
-
Great job on these Amazons, and your photo-scene is really cool! :-*

Brilliant stuff! 8) 8) 8) 8)
Your photos are amazing BTW! :-*

Nice aditions Thomas. :-* :-*
Again, lovelly painting.

Fantastic work , when will we see these to buy ???

Those are amazing, were do those miniatures come from?

They're from Crocodile Games Wargods of Olympus...the only ones "out" are those shipped to kickstarter backers, they're supposed to get a general release late summer if I'm remembering their forum post there on it
-
For now I have finished the archers. Here are the first shots, these models are every bit as lovely as the Peltast ladies ;)
cheers Thomas
-
Impressive...though it's from the older pics, I'm kind of hoping that the crescent moon shields get released individually as well for other projects...
-
More nice work! 8)

Impressive. 8)
Stuart.

Aha!! More nice figures painted. :-* :-*
Keep them coming Thomas.
-
Hi, now that summer is ending I am back to my painting table ;)
So for now I have finished the heroine and the guards, please have a look.
cheers Thomas

Great looking stuff. I have a small Sebeki force that desperately needs some paint on it. Sadly I have no one to play the game with unless I build another army to go with them... Those amazons are very nicely sculpted. It's a shame they haven't seen widespread release.
-
Well done Thomas. :-* :-*
Excelent painting as usuall.
-
Ooooh that's fascinating! :o :-*
Oh no no no I can't afford more unpainted lead!
-
Very nice work on your Amazon figures from Crocodile Games. I like the artistic look of their new Amazon and Trojan minis. Really like the work that Chris and Debs are doing on all of the new releases.
-
Very nice!
I have a similar Greek themed Amazonian army with figures from a range of places. I missed the Crocodile Kickstarter. Looking forward to getting some of these to expand my army.
what end of the 28mm scale do they fall onto ... short or tall?
-
For me they work pretty well with the WFB metal minis in sise and proportions.
Compared to Victrix greeks they are taller so for me its no good idea to have them in the same unit, but to have them on the same table top is no problem I think.
The picture left to right shows a GW plastic necromancer, Blood Rage viking, Wargods amazon guard and a Freebooter imperial musketeer
cheers Thomas
-
Thats very handy thanks. I have a couple of Freebooter figures so I can compare nicely. Definately taller than most, but not all, of my existing army. The majority of which are Wargames Factory plastic Amazons with some from Dark Sword and then some shorter Eureka minis.
Also one or two of no fixed, or at least known, origin!

It took me some time, but I finally managed to finish the phalanxes of the spear and the sword ladies ;):
please have a look:

Beautiful painting, I think they look fantastic. It looks to me like you enjoyed working on these too! :D
Every time I see Crocodile Games' figure range, I am reminded of Chris Fitzpatrick's characteristically sharp sculpting style - I have a pile of his old elves, and the crisp details are lovely to paint. :)
-
Thank you and yes these minis are a real joy to paint :)
The amount and quality of detail in the sculpting is sometimes breathtaking. Especially the Trojans and Amazones excel here!!
-
Those are brilliant. The models are good, the paint job grand - and the impact of the full phalanx is a spectacle.

Stunning!!! :-*
As others have pointed out, the impact of a big group all together in phalanx formation is amazing!
Having just started some Athenians, I can confirm the quality of the sculpting and detail. Amazing models to paint!
-
For now these are my last pictures in this thread, however some time in the future I am hoping to show some Amazon Cavalry here ;)
cheers Thomas

Keeps making me hope the Amazons, or at least the basic ones, get a general release soon.
