Title: Building NOVAC (Fallout table + gangs for TnT)
Post by: Fattdex on May 23, 2015, 05:18:01 AM: For a hobby project with the goal of putting on games (of This Is Not A Test) at Penny Arcade Australia in November this year, I'm building a table based on the Fallout: New Vegas town of Novac

Thus far, I have submitted a pattern for the sign which he test cut for me- I'll get the lettering done in 2.2mm card instead of 3mm mdf

I have also completed patterns for all of the buildings, Mike will cut them in a few weeks time after his laser has been serviced. There are a few accessory bits missing in these diagrams, and the purple dollies are 25mm D by 32mm H

On the way from eBay, he will need to be modified a bit (and to have a gift shop installed...)

Today I am going to create patterns for the giant thermometer, the fuel station awning and sign, and some accessory bits- reception desk, maybe shelving bits.

I have started my first wasteland raiders gang out of models i had laying around and i will start to make a few more specific gangs in the next few months.

I made a female one too, from a female Eisenkern trooper holding an apoc survivor assault rifle, and sculpted a cosmonaut cap onto the female head. Will post pics up when she is painted.

Awesome that your group is excited. Makes for a much easier start. I'm still working on getting my group involved...

Where is the pooch in the shot above from? Looks like it is a good Rottweiler sculpt, which I'm having a hell of a time finding.

I will need to make some mods to him, maybe on the weekend. I need to put a big gut on him, i may have to chickenwire and papier mache it on unless anyone has a good suggestion.

I have also been making and painting some wasteland creatures, the scorpion and zombie nests are completed and the other animals have just been primed last night.

Primed black
generous zenith reprime with light gray primer (tamiya)
airbrush white zenith highlights only from directly above

airbrush minotaur paints 'pumpkin' very light airbrush over (mainly from the side leving whites in, to sort of tint the grey-black blend)

airbrush Minotaur ghost tint orange, light-medium spray over the whole model

Let that dry for a good while

airbrush Minotaur ghost tint blood red, heavily over the whole thing

Let that dry for 2 days

airbrush Alclad II gloss black lacquer onto the abdomen, pincers, feet, antennae, spines etc

Hand paint in the eyes (some vallejo colours, can't remember)

rattle can Gloss coat!

I did him separate to the base, and glued him on after.

Not exactly sure what to do with them but going to run them (or some of them) as peacekeepers led by a hanging judge with lots of slaves. I sculpted nets on a few of them. I'lll be getting the female survivors set tomorrow and build some more sacrificial lambs then.
I'll use the AE-WWII cyber ape as a robot with berserker brew and actuated gauntlet, and the missile launcher silverback as a Tactical with a personal targeting array (spotter monkey)
