Title: Penny Dreadful competition.
Post by: Craig on May 30, 2015, 10:25:37 AM
Ladies and Gentlemen,

A little friendly competition for you. As the most excellent second series of Penny Dreadful progresses it would be entertaining to see a miniature representation of the cast.

A few simple rules methinks:
1. Any scale is fine, but the figures must be both painted and based.
2. We are looking for an accurate representation rather than a beautiful paint job.
3. The judging shall be purely subjective by Lord Charles and myself.
4. You have from now until the end of July, or earlier if everyone agrees.
5. Photographs of your entire cast together should be posted on the Lead Adventure IHMN Penny Dreadful thread, no individual figure photos.
6. You are all free to swap ideas on figures etc.
7. The figures must include as a minimum Miss Ives, Sir Malcolm Murray, Sembene, Ethan Chandler and Victor Frankenstein. You may add to this if you so wish, the Creature, Lily, Dorian Gray, Madame Kali and Ferdinand Lyle.

The set we like the most shall receive a signed copy of whichever one of our rulebooks you would like, including Daisho, and Gothic (if you are prepared to wait).

Sadly I don't have the time to enter. But as a big fan of the show I'll be curious to see which minis people end up using. I've been trying to put the basic team together but have found it more difficult than I thought it would be.

Wow!  :o simply amazing likenesses. Only today was I trying to find figures to represent the characters from Penny Dreadfull. You've done a brilliant job.

Astonishing work! I recognise some of the figures but not all. Can you indicate which ones you've used? Very well done!

Vanessa looks especially nice (as of course is fitting with the full size model as well  ;)). I recognize some of these guys but I must admit I'm at a loss on a few of them.

Thanks Gents, I had a lot of fun working these out.
I did some modification to most of the figures, some head swaps and green stuff work. The figures I used for the characters are as follows:

Sembene is a Foundry Sherlock Holmes with a Victoria Miniatures head.
Dorian Gray is a Paroom Station Dr Moriarty I added hair to.
Ethan Chandler is an Artizan Texas Ranger with a coat and waistcost added.
Sir Malcolm is the Sergeant from Northstar's Scotland Yard set.
Miss Ives is a West Wind figure from the London Mob set with a lot of cutting and shaping done to her clothes and a head swap with Siobhana, a Reaper Vampire.
The monster is the Lucid Eye Dystopian Teen.
Dr Frankenstein is another West Wind London mob figure with an Artizan head and a bag made from greenstuff.
Mr. Ferdinand Lyle is the Badger figure from Muttonchops Windy Chaps.
The vampire is a Heresy Ghoul.

Thanks again.

Amazing. Your conversion work on things brings them to perfection. Sembene and Myles especially look like they walked right out of the show.

what is your prize for winning the contest?
