I recently made a caravan to go with a steam howdah I made a few years ago. Our space 1889 games have been centered around the exploits and adventures of a bunch of scientists exploring the wilds of Mars in the early days of colonisation.
It's got an optional roof mounted luggage rack and a ladder for easy access.

Mainly made from chopped up Christmas trains, random toys, styrene sheets, beads and paperclips.
I also made a couple of Martian skiffs from a couple of old Bionicle canister lids I had lying around.

Here's a few Brits on a skiff from a recent game.

Nice work all round! I particularly like the steam conveyance. :-*

The caravan is sumptuous.
The skiffs are ingenious.
But, dash it all, one of the ladies is improperly dressed.

What he said!

Then perhaps she is not a Lady. ;)

Brilliant use of 'junk'.
Just wonderful.

Very nicely done.

Very good indeed :D

A really handsome piece of modelling and painting. Well done :)

Hadn't noticed! lol

Jolly Nice!

Some nice kit-bashing and painting there. I like how the ladder hangs along the side when not in "use".
-
Outstanding work, well done! :)
Very clever use of existing stuff to create wonderful 'vehicles'..
-
Indeed! Very clever kitbashing there - they look great!

I'll bet she's French. Maybe Italian. Perhaps Spanish? One of those dreadful places, at any rate. Certainly no proper English lady would be seen in such a state of... of... déshabillée.

Thanks for the compliments and kind words, everyone. Nice to think my efforts can serve to inspire, as this forum (many of the folks who have commented here) have inspired me on numerous occasions!
Apologies for the improper attire, but some of the women out in the Martian wilderness have fallen into rather unsavoury habits!

Yet again, that sound you hear is a face meeting a palm. Have a few, would NEVER have thought of...

Alas, the very dangers of foreign climes. It's all very well to wax loquacious on the benefits of grand tours and girls' finishing. Look how she 'finished.'
Obviously, not properly chaperoned! I mean, riding in the front?!? Next, you'll tell me she's operating the controls!
*ahem* Where are my liver pills...

Very nice indeed!!
What manner of four-armed beastie pilots one of the skiffs?
-
I risk to repeat the obvious: very nice indeed!!! (note triple exclamation marks)
But you do realise that your luggage rack messes up the aerodynamics, thus significantly decreasing fuel economy.

How wonderful a sight and a great set of ideas and miniatures , brilliant

Brilliant!

This is really inspirational. Love it!

He's from Rattrap Productions' "Space Cowboys" pack, still available from Brigade Games. Sadly there's just the one sculpt. A war party of those would have been out-of-this-world excellent.

Exactly! - In our games I use him as a one off, half red, half green Martian - There are all manner of prophecies and omens related to the appearance of a creature such as he in various ancient friezes and books. At first the forecasts seemed to be nothing more than preposterous poppycock, but the moons and the stars appear to be aligning, and strange events occur when he is around - but any sane man would attribute them to mere luck or coincidence. Surely?

That is a superb caravan, I want one! :-*
