Another VERY dificult decision!!
-
Yes, this and the one with the red cultists are the killer-decisions this time ... at least for me.
Excellent entries. Respect, with lots of jealousy mixed in. :-*
-
Thought I had already voted on the hard to decide face offs in this round and then I get here. totally baffled as to who I should vote for, love both. i think my preference for the Indian sub continent over the African continent might end up being the deciding factor.
-
Two exceptional choices here!! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
In the end one of them did win me 'round :)
Darrell.

I hear you. This is the toughest round so far. I feel spent, and I'm just voting, not actually painting the damn entries! :)

Yeah, I tend to go through everything once and then go back, take another look and vote.
i find that some work sticks in my mind more then others in the first 'look see' and then take a closer look at the quality of painting when I 'look see' again, if you see what I mean? That way I get a good impression of the visual impact and the quality of the brushwork.

I usually vote immediately, but not this time. Haven't cast my votes for any of the match-ups yet, for the reasons you state. This requires some careful deliberation...

Amazing use of perspective Prof....it really makes your image wonderful.
Of course the mountain top scene is very evocative as well. Have we seen this image in a previous lpl? It seems familiar.

Yep the Pathans are old. I still can not paint.
The caravan is superb. I told the Prof before, for me he is the master of all Darkest Africa related stuff.
-
Wow, that was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make so far! Great effort from both contenders!

Thanks, Jan. You know, I love your Pathans, still hope to fint some time for a small NWF project :)

Tough. The framing of that photo is cracking though Prof.

Two great paintings, two great picture and two great scenaries. But we are only allowed to give one voice. Sad, but true.
-
Stunning both!
-
hardest choice yet

Those African skin tones are really tricky to get right, too. Mine end up looking almost minstrel-show insulting sometimes. One reason why I don't paint Africans very often, I think.
Us European-types are easy.
And Martians - pffft. No one ever complains about my Martian's ruddy skin tones!
