Another commission under way here, this time some Solar Auxilia Veletaris from Forge World. The models are great and a real change from the usual GW stuff. Still need to finish the bases on these and then get another 5 finished.

Copied from my FB page:
Base coat mix of VMA Steel, VMC US Olive Drab and a bit of black. Then highlight up adding more Steel. Quick wash of GW Nuln Oil with a bit of Agrax Earthshade. Then some paint washes of different thicknesses. Mostly a mix of VGC Charred Brown and VGC Imperial Blue. A bit of VGC Parasite Brown for the rust. Then pick out the edges and detail with Steel again.
I think I should really try and do some sort of tutorial considering how often that question pops up. ;)

Almost as stunning as the paint job, though the good sculpts could have been undermined by the usual garish colours.
Well done!
Wait. That's already been said by those who can actually paint...
Hope it doesn't offend, but these would be great as miners ala Outworld. Salvage crew ala Firefly or opening of Aliens. Colonist home guard.
Oh, hell. Beautiful AND so damn useful.

I think they're really versatile models. There's a hint of steam punk, maybe a bit of Victorian sci-fi, a touch of Fallout and even a vague bit of Bioshock in there. All good stuff.

Please stop posting ... each time I see your work I want to quit painting.
Really incredible work with a fantastic personal style which is very recognizable.
I'm a big fan.

Wow that is a stunning paintjob. And some equally good models. I didn't know them. I guess I hould take a peak at forgeworlds site. They could be used for so many things.
-
Beautiful metals - just top paint all round. And I really like those models too...

I WAS going to add those, but figured I was running at the mouth enough already. :D
Really, though, that painting MAKES them that versatile.
Don't listen to Treebeard. Keep posting. Whip us, beat us, make us write bad checks.

That's a spectacular paint job. I've never seen those figures before. Something tells me they might be a bit expensive though.
After reading The Beast's first post, I wonder how they would look in a dirty white paint scheme. Something like the environmental suits from Alien.

Lovely PJs. I love those figures

Job done on these chaps. They took a little longer than I'd hoped but I'm happy with the end result.

Those are very nice indeed.
I am so glad that you steered clear of garish colours. The muted tones really do suit these :)
-
Like em a lot, very businesslike in the muted tones :D
-
Love the paint job! The models look a bit like deadspace space suits to me.

Those are great. :D
