Please excuse the crappy pictures, but the light was poor and I was using my phone. Better pictures hopefully soon.
All figures are original Citadel Vikings, that I first painted as part of a WRG 6th Edition Ancients army about 35 years ago :o :o :o
After a bit or touching up the paintwork, shading courtesy of Army Painter and some new bases I'm quite pleased witht he result :)

Old GW vikings are still cool minis...
The group shot look promising, so I'll wait to see better pics to comment more.
And I like the sceneries too...

Buildings are mine, the rest belongs to Dr De'Ath.

I really like these old-style Citadel minis. You have given them a dark, gritty paint job that makes them look like a warband who have definitely seen some action. Seeing simpler shield designs is also a good thing. I am sure Dark Age warriors could only paint the simpler designs themselves - there were no factories back in those days to churn out dozens of identical intricately designed shields.

Great work!

New warlord finished (the old one will become my standard bearer option for Saga) and my first items of dark ages terrain now finished. Photos hopefully this weekend.

Time to show off my completed Viking warband with some better photos:

Jolly nice - like the autumnal theme on the basing.

Wait until you see the terrain ;)

Nice one Dave, I agree with Mark the bases are particularly effective. :)

A nice collection Dave.
Nick is a particular fan of Saga... ;)

Then he won't like Little Lead Sagas (once we get round to writing the rules) lol lol lol

Thanks for the comments on the Vikings. However, to play a game I also need some terrain. Here are the first pieces I've completed:
Huts and an animal enclosure:

Huts are resin from Frontline Wargaming. I really like the way these came out.
Enclosure is scratch built - more on this in another post soonish.
Stone circle:

My latest terrain piece, a burial mound:

I'll use this ad a steep hill terrain option. It will be perfect as a centrepiece for the Sacred Ground scenario :)

Good stuff Dave, I like the groundwork on the mound in particular 8)
cheers
