Title: Frostgrave Rules Ranged Combat
Post by: Green_Knight on August 06, 2015, 11:32:39 AM
Hi,

great game as such, but in our games the Bow and Crossbowmen
have rea difficulties doing damage.
The hit ok, but usually end up doing no damage.

In Close combat on the other Hand the warriors also have Problems dealing
dmaage, but with maneuvering and ganging up on one model its not
that hard to take out the one model you want to.

Is there a way to improve Shooting in a way we forgot about ?

In example a most shooters have Shooting +2,
if the target is one of the best warriors it has +4 Fight and Armor at least 12.

So the differance needed to do one Point of damage is 15  :o
Not taken into account that there are negative modifiers for cover and even spells
that lower ranged combat even more.

I have the Feeling we are overlooking something.

I think the thing you are overlooking is that damage is the winner's total roll minus the loser's armour.  Not the difference between rolls.

In general for all damage.  It makes combat quite brutal as when you hit you often hit hard.
