Title: Trotsky and the Duke
Post by: Cubs on August 10, 2015, 02:06:30 PM
I thought you might enjoy a sneak preview of something Wargames Illustrated have got up their sleeves and will be announcing soon.

Here's a couple of fellows I was sent to paint up for them ... details to follow!

As usual cracking paint jobs, Paul. That Trotsky mini is gorgeous.

Thanks guys, funny enough I preferred the Duke all the way along, but then doing the final touches to Trotsky - the peak on the cap, the little poster under his foot (if you look closely you'll see it's him on a 1930's communist image) - really brought out the quality of the sculpt.

well, the Duke is a great sculpt and top notch painted too, but no one can beat such a lovely Trotsky :)

Beautifully painted and Marion Wayne is a lovely sculpt save for the slightly odd looking Garand but I think I still prefer the Copplestone Trotsky to this one.

Thanks guys. I think Malamute hit the nail on the head - I can't emphasise enough how easy it is to put a decent paintjob onto a really nicely sculpted, crisply cast model. The damn things nearly paint themselves.

That's certainly a hell of a paint job!  :o Absolutely stunning.
But the Garand looks more like a tree trunk than a rifle...

Lovely blending and that cap brim really is sublime. So perfect!
