Hi,
In the middle of moving house but I've just got time to post up a few pics of the WIP's of Harold's Command Base that will stand behind the battle line and the mini's for Harold's Command Base that will take it's place in the battle line for the Hastings Demo that I'm working on for Salute next year.
A lot to do as of yet, but I'm "on it" as they say.
More pics and info can be seen on my Just Add Water Blog here:
http://justaddwater-bedford.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/battle-of-hastings-demo-salute-2016.html
There will be regular updates as i go along with the project.

Thanks Barry, I'm just waiting on the LBM transfers to pop through the door and they'll be ready to photograph after a quick coat of gloss and matt on the transfers.

These pics are just a quick record of what I've been up to of late.
There's are a couple of bases of Ceorls and a 'Sneak Peek' of the Harold Godwinson Battle Line Base.
I've got to add sand and indeed filler to most the bases; I'm waiting until I've found my nice mix of various grades of sand which is in my new garage (somewhere!?) and the banner on the Godwinson stand need tidying up and the edges need painting. There's also the draco standard to add as I'm waiting on that arriving in the mail.

Excellent miniatures. How many figures are you planning to paint?

Excellent miniatures. How many figures are you planning to paint?
A lot of them! Many hundreds! I know, I've got my work cut out but I plan to get the bulk of the miniatures painted prior to X-mas and NY. That way I can take a more leisurely and considered approach post X-mas.
I pretty much own all the miniatures and most are already undercoated and base coated so that will save time. to give you some idea I'm currently thinking of a table of at least 5' x 10' but probably 6' x 12' as I'll have a lot of vignettes and scenery to place on the table too.

Thanks Ged, just waiting for the PO to deliver a draco and the Godwinson base should be ready to go.

Here's the next stand. There will be a command base to follow and then a unit of four bases of Huscarls that will stand to the front of the four Ceorl bases.
The Ceorls:

Exellent looking minis!
What Base size do you use?

Brilliant!! You have a very nice painting style. paint work on the shields is great! :-* :-*
How long is it taking you to paint up a figure if you don't mind me asking? It takes me a fair few hours to paint a figure to that standard, which is why my 'painted' figure collection isn't anywhere near as big as I'd like. Not a hope in hell I could paint hundreds of em by Salute next year!

Wow! Erm.... how long is a piece of string? It really depends on the commitment that I put into a given project. Enthusiasm obviously plays a very big part. Many of the mini's that i've been basing of late were painted a few years ago so I couldn't even begin to guess how long I took to finish them!
I batch paint mini's- in batches of six at present and just go along at my own pace. to be honest, unless I'm painting for a client I don't make a note of the painting time as this can lead to one feeling a little like you'rte never going to get there if you see what i mean? I'm not taking on any more commissions just for now so I'm free to paint at my leisure (as well as organise moving house!) :)
