Title: (COMMERCIAL) New vehicles at Pendraken!
Post by: Leon Pendraken on August 28, 2015, 01:26:11 AM
With all the recent Warband Fantasy additions, we didn't want to neglect all of our other customers, so here's half a dozen fancy new vehicles to keep you busy!

First up we've got some additions to the WWII British, with the AEC Mk I gun carrier, or 'Deacon' to its friends.  These were only used in North Africa and less than 200 were produced, but it's a distinctive piece of kit with its sharp angles.  Secondly, we've got the Leyland Retriever trucks, used throughout the war and of course famously by Monty himself.

Elsewhere for WWII, we previewed the Fiat 508CM a short while back and here it is!  This one comes with both roof up and roof down versions, so you can pick and choose as you please.  There's no personnel in it, but we are looking at getting some drivers and passengers sculpted to go in all of our vehicles.

Moving forward a little, we've expanded the Modern vehicle ranges as well.  Firstly, the Lynx recon vehicle, which was used by a number of nations, including Canada and the Netherlands.  And then we've got the absolute behemoth that is the FV214 Conqueror!  Developed in the latter stages of WWII, the Conqueror was designed to go up against the Russian IS-3 tanks.  It was produced from 1955-66 until modifications to the Centurion reduced the need for it.  It's an imposing machine though and the model looks great!

Just a small release this weekend for all those WWII Hungarian players, with the Toldi II!  This was produced in slightly higher numbers than the Toldi I (110 vs 80) but then only 80 of those 110 were modified with this 40mm gun, named Toldi IIa.

We've actually had this model at Pendraken HQ for quite some time but for some reason it was never released... It's here now though!

We've been working on revamping all of our Shermans recently, so in advance of the WWII ones being replaced, we've got these handy post-war variants all ready for purchase.

The M50 Shermans were developed in the early 1950's, after the Israeli army had bought a load of French AMX-13 tanks, but decided to mount it's 75mm gun onto Sherman hulls/turrets instead.  The first 50 of these were mounted on the M4A4 hull, before mobility and mechanical issues resulted in them switching over to the M4A3 hulls for the rest.  Then in the 1960's, they decided to mount a 105mm gun onto 180 M4A1 hulls, creating the 'Super' Sherman M51 (also known as Isherman).

And finally in this release, we've got the Egyptian Sherman as well, which was bought and similarly upgraded using the French AMX-13 turret.

Modern Vehicles - http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Post-War-Modern-c20/Modern-Vehicles-sc303/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Post-War-Modern-c20/Modern-Vehicles-sc303/)
MDV26   M50 Sherman 'Continental', M4A4 hull, French 75mm   £3.00
MDV27   M50 Sherman 'Cummins', M4A3 hull, French 75mm   £3.00
MDV28   M51 'Super' Sherman, M4A1 hull, with 105mm gun   £3.00
MDV29   Egyptian Sherman, with AMX turret   £3.00

We'll have these with us at Salute as well, so pop by and grab some before they sell out!

And of course the pictures:

The Tiger has been done as well, we'll be announcing that one after Salute hopefully, along with the Panthers as well.  This is the master model:

Here's our final release for 2016!

The M551 Sheridan was developed in the late 60's and was first deployed in Vietnam, where 200 saw extensive action in the US armoured cavalry units.  Whilst mobility and reliability were better than the M48 Patton, the Sheridan suffered with a long reload process and could only fire two shells per minute compared to an impressive seventeen for the M48.  After Vietnam, the Sheridan was slowly phased out but was still used in the US invasion of Panama in 1989, and then again in Iraq where 51 Sheridans were among the first AFVs to be deployed.

Modern
Vehicles - http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Post-War-Modern-c20/Modern-Vehicles-sc303/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Post-War-Modern-c20/Modern-Vehicles-sc303/)
MDV39   M551 Sheridan     £3.20

And that's us all done for this year!  There is a reason for this final, single release, which will become apparent in a few day's time...  But until then, we hope you've all had a good 2016 and we'll see you next year!
