Title: Khurasan 15mm Great Orcs
Post by: Khurasan Miniatures on August 31, 2015, 02:41:18 PM
We've just released the latest codes for our "Great Enemy" range of 15mm evil forces -- Great Orc Elites.  The warriors are all armed with a heavy scimitar, the commander instead using a great axe.  These are considerably taller and bulkier than the slave orcs that make up the mass of rank and file.  There are two codes, Great Orc Elites and Great Orc Elite command.

These often serve in an elite unit, sometimes as the bodyguard in armies led by an Orc general.

These are terrific!

A thought: how would they work as very small orcs in 28mm? I've got a long-term project going to assemble some correctly scaled Middle Earth orc warbands. By correctly scaled, I mean that even the uruks should be substantially smaller than Men - enough to make a militarily significant difference. So, for the uruks of Mordor, I'm using the wonderful old Ral Partha giant goblins (http://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Image:Rp-02-072.jpg) (a.k.a. orcs, a.k.a. half-orcs).

But that means that I need lots and lots of even smaller orcs - hobbit-sized or so. How big are the Great Orcs compared with a 28mm half-orc?

Also, your trolls look wonderful - and not dissimilar to the RP giant goblins. How would they go as large 28mm orcs?

Many thanks!

I think they'd be a little too small for that TBH.

Impressive orcs, better than those from Demonworld.

Thanks! What sort of size are the armoured trolls?

Thanks again! Perfect for 28mm uruks, then, I'd have thought.

I can take some pics of the trolls next to some 28's so you can see how they look.

Thanks very much!

Those look absolutely spot on as 28mm uruks (I might swap in a sword or spear for the clubs). Looking at the one on the far right, comparing him to the viking on the left and imagining a spear-for-club conversion, I'm seeing the "huge orc-chieftain, almost man-high" that attacks the Fellowship in Moria.

There isn't a UK distributor for Khurasan, is there? In any case, I shall investigate the line to see what else to add to an order. Thanks again!
