I returned to the painting desk after some time and I'm in the mood for some fantasy stuff.

The minis are Otherworld and Reaper. I'm not painting for a particular game. Just for the fun.
More to come...

Brilliant brushwork :-*
-
Lovely deep colours.
-
Great painting on those. Lovely photo too, really like the background to the figures. :)
-
Those are fantastic!
-
Hugely rich tones, I love them. Great minis too.
-
Very funky! Great painting!
-
Damn, they're lovely! :-*
-
Thanks!
-
Painted up my Hasslefree Ash (He who is prophesied to fall from the Heavens and deliver us from the terrors of the deadites).
Not 100% fantasy but whatever. ;D
(https://i.imgur.com/kaNpdmw.jpg)
The deadites are Mantic ghouls.
-
Gorgeous painting again! :-*
-
superb!
-
Not fantasy... but fantastic! :-* (And those ghouls are the dog's danglies, too)
-
Sure it's a fantasy. It's like A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. But with chainsaws. And zombies.
I very much agree with Ajsalium about the ghouls: the Ash figure is well-painted, but it's a lovely sculpt to start with. The Mantic ghouls are OK, but getting them to look that good is impressive.
-
This is one of those rare times I actually am speechless other than OUTSTANDINGLY WELL DONE!
I don't paint for games either; I wish that meant I painted to your standards. C'est la vie, eh?!

love 'em - they've come out a treat.
-
Stunning, quality work, glad you got back to the painting desk.
Look forward to seeing more :)
-
Fantastic job! Absolutely love them. Your colors are amazing.
I really appreciated you showing your photography technique on your blog, very helpful indeed. That picture was worth 1000 words :)
-
what a paintjob! :-*
Ash is cool (of course 8) ) but those warriors are fantastic. Really love the dark and rich palette. Well done!
-
Thanks for all the kind words!
I painted some Adventurers. The ladies are Hasslefree minis and the gents are from GW.

Very nice!
-
Lovely band of adventurer ! Excellent choice of brand.
-
These are very nice. Great choice of miniatures too.
-
Wow! These are fab, I really love the colors and style. Do you have any tips on how you have done the skin? This is something I just seem to get wrong on my models time and time again. I'd really like to be able to make it look like how you have done yours.
-
VERY WELL DONE! The Ladies are particularly LOVELY. Your brushwork, color selection, & bases are as OUTSTANDING as ever.
-
Gorgeous paintwork and photography, please keep them coming!
-
very nice indeed!

I painted up a Frostgrave Warband for a friend. Its a mix of North Star, GW and Fireforge minis. I have gone a bit wild on the colours but I hope it not to gaudy.

That's it, exactly. :-*
-
Bloody hell!
Those are so clean and precise!
-
Lovely painting and photos Funkybrush (especially the first ones in the woods).
-
Brilliant painting!
-
Really beautiful painting! (Very much the sort of style and colours that appeal to me as well). It looks like you got a good mix of fitting models too, which is also very satisfying to see. 8)
-
From my gaudy style perspective, your LOVELY choice of colors is almost subdued. You have a WONDERFUL way with the brush. The Band of Adventures is VERY WELL DONE indeed! All that it lacks is a Group Portrait.
-
Thanks for all the positive feedback!

Dang! I knew I forgot something

I love all these miniatures, and you sure did them justice. Luna is one of my favourite sculpts, but I hadn't realized how similar she is to Aenur.
Your Frostgrave collection is great too! Nice colors, and pretty obvious character modelling.
-
Finished my own Frostgrave Warband. It was realy fun converting and painting them but it took a while. Mostly Games Workshop and Fireforge minis. The dog is from Bombshell Miniatures.

Nice conversions/kitbashes and lovely crisp brushwork.
:-* :-*
The wizard makes me chuckle as he looks like a punk style Saruman.

-
VERY WELL DONE! The War Band finished up in OUTSTANDING style.
-
I really like your painting style - very bold colours. A good selection of miniatures very well painted. :-*
-
Brilliant - very crisply done with a lovely palette 8) 8) 8)

Thanks Guys! I also fished up some treasure tokens. Its a mix of Games Workshop, Mantic and Tiny Tales treasure chests.
The mimic is there just for fun.
-
Ooh nice! Excellent choice of treasure chests and lovely vibrant painting on them.
-
Lovely treasure chests.
I am sure that adventurers would want them, even when empty, as they look so nice.
:-* :-*
-
Wonderful painting all around. those chests are brilliant.
cheers
-
This stuff is all phenomenal, and painted in my favourite style. Keep going!
-
I added some minis to my Bandits. A Reaper bandit captain, a Otherworld female barbarian and two old GW bretonians as youngsters. I realy like how this group turned out.

-
Great looking group!
-
They gel really well together; the great paint jobs tie them closely. I really like your clean, sharp painting style.
-
Your Bandits are a WONDERFULLY diverse group that go SPLENDIDLY together...i think its the universally BEAUTIFUL brushwork that does it.
The Treasures are of the same oh-so-high quality as the other more active miniatures. You managed to escape the all browns for the chests which is something I never have been able to do. VERY WELL DONE once more!
-
I love the ugly boy in the left ! Nice mix of manufacturer.
-
Thanks Guys! Here are some random fantasy miniatures. The ugly shopkeeper in an old Legend of Zagor mini that I rescued from the dumpster. I love this guy. So much character in this old boardgame mini. The female wizard is a Reaper mini and the elf prince was made by Warcrow.

-
While all of the brushwork is sublime, really neat and crisp, the sculpt of that shopkeeper is amazing.
I want one!
:-* :-*
-
I have just NOW found this thread...Utterly incredible painting skills!!
-
These are all fantastic, and that shopkeeper is a riot! :)
-
Everything looks wonderful! I especially love looking at the Frostgrave warbands at the way you assembled the figures. I love kit-bashing, and we live in a glorious age of plastic kits, which you are putting to excellent use. Thanks for sharing!

I painted up Steelheart's Champions from Shadespire. Good looking miniatures. Fun to build and paint. Even the bases are good. The only point of critique are the giant gaps on the shoulder pads. It was really hard to conceal them. Cheers!

Those bandits are perfect. I really dig your clean and smooth painting.
-
Such a great thread! Your black-lining takes most of these minis to the next level. And now when I'm tempted to think I can get a similar look with a quick wash I'll have to admit that I'm delusional. Very inspirational. Thank you.
-
great painting.
particularly like the way you keep eyes 'to scale'.
-
Thanks mates!
Here is the second warband from Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire. I like Garrek's Reavers a little bit more than Steelheart's Champions. I will definitively get more faction for Warhammer Underworld. Its a really fun game and the minis are superb.

Very nice, neat, clean & bright paint jobs. Well done.
-
yes. again: GW chaos aesthetic isn't my bag, but regardless the 'eyes' are incredibly well done.
-
I finished today this little group of freaks.

Beautiful work.
-
Nice work!
-
Bump! Long time no see.
I got back in the painting chair recently and actually managed to finish something.
Here is a unit of plaguebearers. I was playing with the idea of starting a Nurgle army. Painting them was a drag. So this will be the only Deamons of Nurgle for me.
-
Just been through your whole thread, lovely painting style you've got.
-
very crisp and clean for Nurgle! But still look fantastic.
-
I really like these burgle minis, similar to the classic ones and not too over the top with sculpting. You've done a great job on them
-
Wow, those are... er, nice in a horrible way. Great thread too! Love your technique, you have make vibrant paint jobs.
-
I painted the first miniature this year. An old Harlequin Barbarian. The original shield was missing so I replaced it with a Tabletop-Art one. Handsome fella, isn't he?
-
Nice. I really like the wood-effect you have got going there on the shield.
-
Excellent :)
-
Oh yes, a real beauty! I’d like to know wjere he got with this fantastic haircut ;.
-
Very nice. I think I've played against him in the scrum.
-
Lovely.
